[Factory Work x English Learning] Learning Smartly with Cost and Time Performance. A Record of My Challenge Starting at 42

Hello.

I'm Riko, a floor leader working in a factory.

Actually, I have rewritten my self-introduction article this time.

Until now, I have been sharing my daily English learning progress and my life as a working mom in a relaxed way🌝.

Of course, those are precious treasures, but somewhere in my heart, the feeling of “I want to be more of a help to people who are chasing their dreams while having no time just like me” has grown stronger.

“It’s impossible because I’m too busy and have no time”

To those who are capping their own potential like that, I want to deliver a concrete path and the courage to say “With the right approach, you can change your life from any age and in any environment”.

With that thought in mind, I decided to update the role of this note.

“Chased by daily work, a mountain of housework, and club activities, I have zero time for myself”

Are you giving up on your life like that?

I, too, used to spend my days coming home from work, carrying piles of laundry, and being busy making bento boxes for my growing children and supporting their club activities.

However, at one point, I strongly felt “I want to change my life with my own hands”, and I started learning English at 42.

Why was an ordinary factory worker entrusted with “English-related work” and able to get promoted?

The trigger was intense jealousy when I saw a younger boss at my new department speaking fluent English and being highly praised by everyone around.

“If you can speak English, you get called amazing like that...”

From there, I immediately jumped into an “online English conversation service for a few thousand yen a month” using company benefits, and decided to continue it every single day without fail.

You can get results depending on how you do it, without attending expensive schools.

The result—

🎉Reached Eiken Grade 2 (B2 level) from Eiken Grade 5

🎉 In addition to factory duties, I was entrusted with "English-using work" such as handling overseas clients

🎉 I even achieved a promotion within the company!

Of course, compared to the seniors who write "English-related notes" in the world or fluent bilinguals, my English ability is still not high enough to boast about.

Even so—what I gained from this experience is not just "improved English ability."
