A Story About Nights When You Get Stuck Trying to Understand—To Those Who Search for the Right Answer Before They Can "Feel" | Episode 5
Perhaps I was the same way, but
when a diet isn't going well,
the first thing you do is try to "understand."
Why did I gain weight?
What am I missing?
What is the cause?
Where is the answer?
And then at night,
you open your phone,
search, save, and
keep adding to your "read later" list.
……And yet,
the next day, you haven't changed at all.
This "lack of change"
is what hurts the most.
"I feel like I understand, but I can't move."
"I get it, but I can't keep it up."
"I know the right thing to do, but I can't do it."
Once you get stuck here,
dieting suddenly
becomes like a battle of wits🫧
But now,
there is something I want to tell my past self.
"You don't have to try to understand," I'd say🍀
Dieting
looks like a game where the person who finds the right answer wins,
but that's not actually true.
Even if you collect all the right answers,
if your body isn't standing in that place,
those answers are just a heavy burden.
For example,
it's like looking at a map app perfectly,
but not knowing where you are right now🧭

"You should turn right."
"This path is the shortest."
Even if you know that,
if your current location is different,
that guidance is useless.
The body is the same; what you need first
isn't the "right answer"
but your "current location."
So, how do you find that current location?
If you try to suddenly
analyze, judge, or link it directly to correct actions,
the battle of wits starts all over again.
Therefore, at first, this is all you need.
"Feel."
For example,
the heaviness after a meal.
The morning chill.
Whether your body feels lighter or heavier after drinking water.
For some reason, the scent of sweets is bothering you today.
Don't judge this as
good or bad.
Don't label it as correct or incorrect.
“...Ah, so this is how it is right now.”
That is enough🍃
The me back then
couldn't do this.
Or rather,
I think I was scared.
Because once you start feeling,
you see your 'current state'.
You are actually tired.
You are actually cold.
You actually have no room to spare.
You actually want to rest before pushing yourself.
Even though you
vaguely know these things,
there are days you don't want to admit it.
That's why
you search for the right answer.
Before feeling,
you run away to an 'answer'.
I understand that feeling well
now, too🍀
But you know,
feeling isn't
about coddling yourself.
It's actually the opposite,
it means 'looking at where you are right now without running away'.
And it's strange, but
the moment you see where you are,
your body calms down just a little.
Rather than when you are running around in a panic,
your breathing becomes deeper
when you realize 'I am here'🧭
So, the conclusion of Episode 5 is this.
Dieting
doesn't start with understanding.
It starts with feeling🌿
Before searching for the right answer,
check your body's temperature just once today.
If you feel heavy after water,
that is just information.
If you are curious about sweets,
that is also information.
You don't have to change.
You don't have to fix anything.
Just,
acknowledge, "This is how it is right now."
At that very moment,
the change has already begun.🍀
💌 Conclusion
Thank you so much
for reading this far.🍀
There are nights when the more you try to understand,
the more stuck you become.
But that is not because your will is weak,
nor is it because you are being lazy.
It is simply your body telling you to "feel first."
In the next issue,
I will write about how this "beginning to feel"
connects to your daily actions.
I will write a bit more concretely
about how to take "small steps."🧭🌿
🔎 As a supplement (for those who need it)
The concept of "using analysis"
that I shared in this final episode
is not about finding the answer to make your diet a success.
Analysis in Five-Sense Dieting is
like a "map" to confirm your current position,
such as:
・What state is your body currently able to receive?
・Where are you prone to overexertion?
・Do you need to change the order of things?
Stop and look before adding more methods.
Know where you are before deciding which direction to put in effort.
As an option for that purpose,
the Five-Sense Analysis Lab offers several types of analysis.
I have summarized the philosophy of analysis
and the positioning of each menu
on a pinned page👇

Thank you so much for featuring two of my articles in your precious magazine🍀
"A little bit about myself..." and
"Is consciousness a byproduct of the universe?"
A story about organizing daily life, and
a story about questioning the universe.
I am very happy that you received these two pieces with different temperatures side by side🧭
Feeling the current state of my body, and
observing the world as an observer,
to me, both are
"acts of confirming my own standpoint."
I am sincerely grateful
that you quietly scooped up that perspective🌿
I will continue to
organize things without rushing,
while deepening my understanding.
Thank you so much🍀

Thank you so much
for featuring as many as eight of my articles
in your precious magazine🍀
Each and every article
contains the questions, wavering, and
the process of organizing that I felt at the time.
My heart felt warm
that you received them all together🧭
The episode on philosophy,
the episode on the body,
and the episode where I talked a little about myself.
I am sincerely grateful
that you scooped them up, including the full range of my expression🌿
Words leave your hands the moment you release them, but
when you line them up like this,
I feel that "they really did reach you."
I will continue to
write while quietly and deeply
organizing my thoughts.

'🐶 with you 🐱 — Itsumo Ski —'🍀
Just like the words 'with you,'
I feel as though you have gently placed it right by your side.
This article was on a
slightly more contemplative theme of
'consciousness' and 'observation,' but
I am very happy that you received that question🧭
Quiet thoughts and
the time spent sorting through them while wavering
turn into warmth
when someone keeps them by their side.
I am truly grateful from the bottom of my heart🌿
I will continue to
write each piece with care.

Just like the words 'blooming in the heart,'
I felt very happy and warm
that you gently placed it there🌸
This article was
a slightly quiet episode about the questions of
'consciousness' and 'observation,' but
I am truly grateful that you received those contemplations🧭
Even if words are written alone,
when they are lined up on someone's shelf like this,
they become a gentle landscape.

This article
was on a somewhat contemplative theme of consciousness and observation, but
I am very happy
that you delivered that question to "someone having a tough day"🧭
Thinking can be tiring at times.
But holding a question
can truly be a power that helps you find your center.
