"Go with the Flow" (Ship Adventure Series Introduction 2) H18 x W18 x D2.2 cm

I will be introducing the works from the Ship Adventure series.

There are six pieces in total, and the order does not matter.
I have included a count-up because it helps to see the end in sight.

This piece is related to Aquila, which I mentioned in the previous article. Aside from the fact that Aquila is used, there is another connection to Aquila.

I drew a golden eagle. Since it is a fantasy world and I cannot draw things exactly like the real thing, it might be a little different from a real golden eagle, but it is based on one.

The genus Aquila is "Aquila," so it sounds similar to "Aquila." I created this to commemorate the use of Aquila in the Ship Adventure series. I like puns, so I incorporate them into my work whenever I have the chance.

There are other meanings as well.

This golden eagle is actually an art collector. In the past, all they would bring back to the nest was food or materials like twigs (which they would diligently repair). And they used to look down on crows, but one day, they woke up to the joy of things beyond daily necessities.

In truth, they were envious of the crows.

Since then, the golden eagle has also realized that they themselves are an artist. I believe that daily life and the act of shaping one's life are art in themselves. Things like how to catch prey or how to build a nest.

I also think that for those who love art, the way each person engages with art is art in itself.

The ship gets caught by the sharp-eyed golden eagle. A scary bird! However, contrary to appearances, the way it holds the ship is gentle. It seems the scary bird is being considerate of the ship in its own way. That is only natural, as the golden eagle was planning to add the ship to its collection.

It was for its own sake, but also a gift. This is a scene where it is carefully carrying the ship while thinking of the other one waiting at the nest, wondering, "Will they (though it is a bird) like it?"

I created this while thinking that there might be cases in life where what seems like a disaster is actually very lucky.

I also created it with gratitude and respect for those who love art.

I was originally hesitant about whether to include the golden eagle story in the Ship series that watches over living creatures, and I was just drawing rough sketches, but I wanted to include it in the adventure, so I did. As it turned out, two types of birds of prey ended up appearing in this adventure. Broadly speaking, they are two types that divide their time between day and night.

The rough sketches also include a scene where the ship is chatting with the other one after being brought to the golden eagle's home. Before that, there was also an osprey version, but,

I wanted to make a pun, so it became a golden eagle, whose name sounds similar to Aquila.

Materials used (that I can remember):
Wooden panel, water-based alkyd resin paint, cedar leaf color, ivory color, obsidian powder, rock gofun, white jade powder, Himalayan crystal, etc.

I used a 18cm diameter (the long side of a size 0 canvas) circular panel as the support.
