Moving to a new, lush green headquarters! A new chapter for LeafWorks begins here.
This is M-da.
At the end of March, when I took this photo ↓, our base of operations, the LeafWorks headquarters, moved to a new location.

First, for those of you asking, "What kind of company is LeafWorks?", let me introduce us briefly ↓
LeafWorks Inc. is an IT company in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. We are currently developing multiple businesses, including cloud services and e-commerce. Our president, Sawa, started the company alone as an engineer, and it has grown by adding more team members.
It seems that building a new headquarters was in the plans early on, not just for physical reasons due to the increase in members, but also as part of the future blueprint drawn up during our growth process.
...So, where did you move to?
The new base is about 470 meters northwest of the old office. It looks surprisingly close on a map, but the difficulty of moving a company cannot be measured by distance.
The site area of the new headquarters is about 340 tsubo (approx. 1,124 sqm). That's about four tennis courts (doubles), and the total floor area is 500 tsubo (equivalent to 1,000 tatami mats), which is actually three times the size of the old office!
When I first heard these numbers, my brain momentarily stopped, wondering, "How big is 1,000 tatami mats?", but I went to see the land and experienced it for myself.
\ It's just so wide! /

The design and construction were handled by Sawamura Co., Ltd., the same company as our old office before the move. The land was leveled, a groundbreaking ceremony was held, and construction began from the foundation... I, M-da, was quietly excited, thinking, "This place will be our new base soon!" (laughs).

A stylish building that suddenly appeared in the countryside
And this January, the new headquarters was finally completed! Although it is a little off the main street in Katata, a stylish three-story building has appeared in a place with a pleasant rural landscape.

and collabo Inc.'s tasteful landscaping is balanced both inside and outside the office, and healing green spaces appear one after another.

For those of you thinking, "The company name has 'Leaf' in it, so they must have been conscious of that, right?" → I haven't confirmed it, but I'm probably right (laughs).
Now, from here on, I'll give you a rough introduction to the facilities on each floor!
1F
Entering the entrance, the first thing that catches your eye is the large kitchen counter. It embodies the wish, "I want everyone to gather here and communicate easily, regardless of department or position."

\ A featured highlight item /
This is something I absolutely have to share: a New Face inside the kitchen counter!A sparkling soda server♬ (in the style of a certain robotic cat). In addition to coffee and cocoa, we can now drink sparkling water anytime (M-da, who loves sparkling water, is overjoyed!).

The spacious main floor across from the kitchen counter is equipped with a large wall-embedded LED monitor. It is already being put to good use for internal events and more.

Just like the kitchen counter, this eye-catching, open-feelingguest meeting room is right to the right of the entrance.

\ Yes, you can! /

2F/3F | Work Area
The work area, where each member's seat is lined up, features rows of 160cm-wide desks that can easily accommodate LeafWorks' signaturetriple displays. The size is the same as the old office, but perhaps because the building is larger...? Many have commented that it 'feels wider'.

A place with hidden popularity...?
Finally, let me introduce a corner that I, M-da, really wanted you to see.
A single seat facing the window... a small table in front... partitions all around... and a window with a view of the front of the office building...
Since it faces the main street, during the tour before we moved in, some members asked, "Who would sit there?" besides our official company character,Konoha-chan (laughs). It's the Relaxation Booth below.

...But recently, I was told, "M-da-san, that seat is actually quite popular!" It seems its comfort is slowly gaining popularity, with people saying it's a relaxing place to take a break (laughs).

The cherry blossoms have now turned into dazzling fresh green leaves.

It has already been two months since the move, and it seems the headquarters members have fully settled into life at the new base.
We are sometimes swayed by the fast pace unique to the IT industry, and there are many days when we hold our heads in our hands when things don't go well, but I am grateful every day for this wonderful environment in which we work.
The next post will also be a report on the new office move! This time, we will focus on the "people," sharing how the members were on the day of the move and about the colleagues who were working hard behind the scenes.
I'll keep sharing updates while refreshing with a soda in hand (laughs)!
