The story of how I made a diagnosis maker that reveals 'why you're not popular' just by entering your name (free)

——Wait, hold on. I don't need an AI telling me I'm 'thought to be an AI'.

This article starts with that kind of retort.

It all started with a single thought that popped into my head: 'If there were a tool where you could just enter your name and get a funny love diagnosis, wouldn't it go viral on X?' That's it. There's no deeper reason.

So, I made it.It's free. First, please try it out.

What kind of tool is it?

Just enter your name (a nickname is fine) and choose a diagnosis. The results that come out are all fiction and completely irresponsible.

There are three diagnoses to choose from.

💔 'This was the reason you're not popular'

The self-deprecating category. For example, you might get a result like this:

• Because your standards are so high that you're not looking for Prince Charming, but for the 'white horse itself'

• Because when you're in front of someone you like, you suddenly start speaking like a 'samurai' for some reason (my apologies)

📖 'Your next lover is this kind of person [Instruction Manual]'

The specs of your future lover are a bit strange.

• Someone who is kind and rich, but wears a T-shirt with a giant 'rabbit' printed on it

• Someone who likes you so much that they faint when you change your hairstyle (cutting your bangs is a life-or-death situation)

⚔️ 'Love Combat Power'

Like an anime status screen, it quantifies your love life.

• Combat Power [5] — You're good at falling in love at first sight, but you become combat-incapable the moment you make eye contact.

• Combat Power [Immeasurable (too negative)] — Currently deploying a strong barrier that says, 'I will live my whole life only looking at my bias.'

There are 8 patterns for each, and I've made it so that even if you spam the button, you won't get the same result repeatedly, so you can keep trying until you get a result you're satisfied with (or the most terrible one).

To be honest, the part I struggled with was the 'humor'.

Technically, it's not a difficult tool. It's completed in a single HTML file, and I just uploaded it to Cloudflare Pages as is. I didn't get stuck on deployment, and it was released to the world quite easily.

However, there is one thing I couldn't find an answer to until the end.

Can people really laugh at something made with AI?

A diagnosis maker is, in the end, all about the fun of the text. No matter how beautiful the design is, if the result text is boring, no one will take a screenshot, and no one will share it.

That's why this time, I spent the most time on the 'gap' in the judgment text. Starting with relatable self-deprecation, and then slightly subverting expectations at the end. Like setting it up with 'Prince Charming' and landing on 'the white horse itself'—that momentary gap. Whether that works is everything.

Honestly, I'm still not confident. That's why I want your feedback.

Future plans

This time, I first put out something you can 'play' for free. The judgment sentences are all fixed patterns I prepared.

What I want to do next is incorporate AI here. I want to eventually create a version that generates a one-of-a-kind judgment sentence on the spot based on your name or input.

I usually write novels while experimentally creating and recording these 'small creative tools made with AI.' I write about everything, including my failures, so I'd be happy if you followed me.
