[Creative] Two-color printing by Retro Printing [Doujinshi]

This is Kukuri.
I participated in Kansai Comitia 71 as a circle, and I was able to safely bring the book I had made by Retro Printing to the venue.
Here is the unveiling of the finished work.

Tsuyapuri, which is popular for its texture

The cover is resin-processed on a paper called Kuchen, which is close to white.
It has a plump, three-dimensional feel that is pleasant to the touch.
I was told that 100% solid black prints beautifully, so I went with a crisp design.

Label for a drink from the demon world

The back cover is a label for a fictional drink called SUNNY FUNNY ALE that appears in the story.
It has almost no alcohol.
Because of this design, I thought the Tsuyapuri process would be a good fit.

Printing on the flyleaf too!
"Souvenirs!"

It's a manga about a werewolf who throws a tantrum because his boss went sightseeing but didn't bring back any souvenirs, and the boss suggests they go buy some together.
Since the theme is the Whale Museum, I chose a pair of light blue and dark gray.
The paper is warabanshi (straw paper).
The appeal of warabanshi is that I like the color, and it stays light even with a high page count.

I like angry girls.

The story on the other side of the saddle stitch was about Halloween, so I used a pair of orange and dark gray. I debated using brown or purple for the main lines, but dark gray isn't too strong and is cute. Since it's a story about coffee, brown would have been fine too.

The catchphrase was well-received

I compiled the character introductions in the middle and had them printed on craft paper. It's nice, like a dictionary.
I debated using wine red for the color, but went with brown and citrus.
I didn't have a proper character introduction book before, so I'll be making great use of this book too. I'm the type of person who doesn't keep character data notes.

In closing.

Rough sketches & inking

It's amazing how things like these scribbles can take proper shape.
If I had gotten bored or given up, they wouldn't have been born into this world, after all.
I am very grateful to those who picked it up, to Retro Printing JAM who brought it to life, and to Kansai Comitia for hosting the event. And to myself: you did a good job (in the style of an old master).

Maolog's shop.

This is how I had it set up at the event.
Thank you so much for hanging out with me!
