When I Quantified Love, It Was a Little Scary but Incredibly Interesting | Note Operations | Followers | Connections | Column | #305
This is something I wanted to do once I passed 1,000 followers.
Honestly, I barely made it lol
I've passed the milestone~~!!

Following that flow, I've released the support archive 'SKI RANKING'.
I've received more 'likes' again.
I'm grateful. I'm truly grateful.
But you know.
This is where a slightly troublesome habit of mine as a creator comes out.
'Is it really okay to count this 'like' as just one single unit?'
The one that flies in the moment I post.
The one that someone goes out of their way to dig up from past work days later.
Even though it's the same '1 like', it feels like... the amount of passion behind it is different.
The love of a quick click.
The love of excavation.
The love of repeated visits.
The love of someone whose intensity suddenly bugs out.
If you just look at the total value, all of this gets processed as 'Yes, that's 1'.
That's a bit of a waste, isn't it?
So, that's why I made it.
A private archive that observes and records the heat of support on its own.
Its name is—
SKI RANKING

The public page is here.
This Week / Last Week / This Month / Last Month It's a Supporter Archive that you can view by switching between these.

It looks like something official, but what I'm actually doing is a 'private observation of the heat of support'.
At least it looks pretty professional, right?
But the content is actually quite the obsession of a person who has twisted their love.
This is not just a 'Like count ranking'.
I'll say it upfront,
this is not a simple 'ranking by most Likes'.
For example, here are some of the things I'm looking at.
When they reacted to it
How consistently they have been engaging
Not just new work, but whether they are digging into past work as well
At what pace support has accumulated during that period
In other words,
I'm looking at 'how they resonated' rather than just 'how many Likes they gave'.
I haven't released the details of the formula.
That's my secret sauce.
But the philosophy is actually quite simple:
I want to properly respect the passion that resides in timing. That's all there is to it.
Measuring love by numbers alone is tacky.
But it's a bad habit of mine to want to turn things into logs.
The screen looks pretty good, right?
I put a fair amount of effort into the look of this page, too.
The title is displayed in big letters as SKI RANKING.
At the top is the number of Supporters.
In the middle is the Top 3, like a podium.
At the bottom is the Score Trend line graph.
What I'm doing is half ranking, half exhibition.
The black background for 1st place looks a bit powerful, doesn't it?
The soft colors for 2nd and 3rd place also have a certain "chosen one" feel to them.
It's unnecessarily solemn.
But I like this kind of unnecessary stuff.

There are three highlights.
1. The Podium
First is the podium.
The top supporters who showed the most passion during that period are lined up.
But what I want you to look at isn't just the simple ranking.
"This person was super fast this week,"
"This person is digging deep into past works,"
"This person is quietly accumulating and growing at the end."
It's interesting that you can even see those habits of support.
2. Score Trend
I quietly love this.
Even though it's just a line graph,
when I look at it, I can tell, 'Oh, something happened on this day.'
The way it grows shows personality.
There are 'boom' types and 'slow and steady' types.
I'm talking about it like it's an investment trust, but the subject is love.
3. Period Switching
It's a bit of a waste to just look at this week and be done with it.
This Week / Last Week / This Month / Last MonthYou can switch between these, so
you can see both short-term bursts and medium-term consistency.
In short, it's not just about the peak wind speed, but a design that lets you see
'This person is really here'.

This concept was born from tinkering in DMs
This part is quietly important, though.
This concept was born from tinkering in DMs with
Hashamonwith such intensity that I could call them my partner in crime,
Hashamon.
Not this, not that.
'That's good.'
'No, this one is creepier and better.'
It feels like it took shape little by little through that unique back-and-forth.
Hashamon will probably update it again.
And I will update it again, too.
I think it will grow little by little like that.
Rather than a finished product,
this is more likea 'co-conspirator update' type of game.
'What should I do to make it go up?'
No, you don't need to think about that.
There are probably people wondering about it, though.
'So, how should I act to increase the points?'
But you know,
this isn't a project to release a strategy guide.
Read it when you want to read it,
and hit the 'like' button when you think it's good.
That is enough.
In fact, if there's too much calculation involved,
the log suddenly starts looking like the 'remains of a strategy meeting'.
What I want to see is
the trajectory of support born from a natural state.
So,
please don't overthink it and just be yourself as always.
In return,
your 'likes' are definitely reaching me.
And what's more, they are being observed at a higher resolution than you might think.
Scary?
Just a little.
And I'm scared too.
I find myself thinking, 'Is this really me writing this?' lol

I didn't want to let support end as just a number.
Rankings tend to be cold.
But what I wanted to do this time wasn't to make anyone compete,
'You were definitely supporting me back then'
I wanted to give that history a form that could be looked back on later.
Numbers are inorganic.
However, there is a story in how they are arranged.
This person came right at the start.
This person found my past work.
This person engaged with me over and over again.
I didn't want to let things like that
just flow away and disappear.
So, rather than a ranking, this is an
archive of support.
……Writing it like this makes the purpose of getting people to browse a bit murky, doesn't it!? Haha.
Huh?
You're not going to fall for my strategy!?
Come on, just go along with it for old time's sake……
Right? Do me a favor, okay?
Is there anyone who wants to make something similar?
By the way.
Is there anyone who thinks,
“I want to try making this myself”?
If there is, I also want to mention that
if you base it on the method I introduced in my article, you can build something like this too~
.
Of course, I don't think it will be exactly the same.
But,
gathering data
thinking of a unique way to present it
polishing it as a screen
publishing it and having fun
This flow is quite applicable.
In short, it means
turning a record of what you like into your own personal exhibit
.
This is a pretty interesting area.
▼ Click to jump.

So, I've published it.
"SKI RANKING" has been published.
It looks the part.
The content is a bit heavy on love.
But, I'm actually quite fond of it.
The page is here.

Whose name is engraved on this week's podium?
Take a look if you'd like.
And,
read it when you want to read it,
and if it resonates with you, just hit the 'Like' button; that's all I need.
This archive will probably not miss
that pure strike.
……Well then.
I wonder whose name will remain in this week's Supporter Archive.
See you later.
