A story about how using FUJIFILM helps me like myself.

It has been nearly half a year since I bought the FUJIFILM X-E5.

I have taken photos. A lot of them, in fact.

I feel there were many moments where I wouldn't have pressed the shutter if it weren't for this camera.

There are many cameras and editing software options in the world.
Thanks to that, with any decent camera, you can take reasonably beautiful photos, and with retouching, you can even replicate textures that transcend specific manufacturers.

To be honest, I think that if a photo is taken properly, you could even reproduce FUJIFILM's colors through RAW development.

In fact, looking at a retouched photo, it is almost impossible to tell which manufacturer's camera was used unless you are an expert.

Even so, why do I choose FUJIFILM cameras?

I would like to conclude that it isbecause it provides a unique shooting experience and satisfies the desire for ownership.and conclude it as such.

This time, I will narrow the focus to the shooting experience and arrive at the point thatthe act of taking photos helps me like myself.

What is a shooting experience?

So, what exactly is a shooting experience?

I feel it boils down to two points.

It makes me want to take photos.

When I have a FUJIFILM camera, I notice myself actively looking for subjects, strangely enough.

Taking photos is about noticing the world.

The X-E5 is compact and lightweight, yet it has a bit of heft, making it comfortable to hold. When people have a comfortable tool, they want to use it.

Even from a fashion perspective, it makes me want to carry it around.
Carrying it out means more opportunities to take photos.

No matter how I think about it, I feel that the X-E5 possesses a kind of magic that makes me want to shoot.

It handles like an extension of your own body, fits comfortably in your hand, and is ready to shoot in an instant. I feel that this ease of use is the true essence of a camera.

You realize your heart is being moved, and when you take a good shot, you are filled with a sense of exhilaration.
This makes you want to shoot again, and you start carrying it with you next time, too. As you repeat this process, the world you see is stored away like a diary.

When you look back at them, the feelings you had when you took the photos come rushing back, and your heart is moved once again.

You feel a little happy that you are the kind of person who can notice so many different worlds.

And you start to like that version of yourself.

The pleasure of the shutter feel

The shutter feel literally refers to the sensation you feel in your finger when you press the shutter. This time, I will also talk about the shutter sound.

“Click”

It feels good.
A crisp, pleasant sound is transmitted to your ears and fingers.

Modern mirrorless cameras don't really have that sensation like the old SLR cameras did. That feeling of the mirror flipping up is also quite nice, though.

This shutter feel is completely different for every camera.
Even when comparing FUJIFILM cameras, they are totally different.

Even just the sound can be a “click” or a “snick”.

The moment you feel when you press it with your finger is also quite different.

This is something I really can't explain well unless you experience it yourself...
I would like you to go to a camera shop and try out a demo unit.

The shutter is a consumable part, so it will gradually soften as you continue to use it.
Whether you call that “deterioration” or “customized for you” is up to you.

In any case, I think the feeling of it becoming your own unique camera comes from the shutter feel...

I find myself pressing the shutter just to experience that sensation again. Even a shot that seems pointless at the time can make me think, 'Hey, that's actually a good photo!' when I look back at it later.

Doesn't discovering a new side of yourself like that make your heart feel a little lighter?

Two shooting experiences

The two elements that break down the shooting experience provide an experience that is clearly different from other camera manufacturers, thanks to the FUJIFILM brand.

By the way, I mainly use SONY and Canon for work.

Each company is different, but I feel that FUJIFILM takes the lead in terms of moving the heart and providing excitement.

Through this shooting experience, I have come to love the act of taking photos,
and I feel like I can even come to like myself through photography.

A camera only creates value when you take it out and press the shutter.

That value includes the resulting photograph, but
I feel there is great value in the process leading up to taking the photo.
