When I stopped trying so hard, a path opened up. My turning point | Nakanotake Shrine #28
How are you doing?
I'm Yuiho, currently training to be a walking power spot✨
"I want to go there someday."
Isn't there a place you think about like that?
It's close enough to visit right away, but for some reason, the timing never works out.
Yet, even after years, it never leaves your mind.
For me, that place was Nakanotake Shrine in Gunma Prefecture.
The catalyst was a very strange dream.
A large, golden-shining Daikoku-sama appeared in it✨
It was so impressive that when I looked up, "Where is this place?", I found it was the Daikoku-sama at Nakanotake Shrine.
"I have to go there!"
Even though I thought that,
it was about two years later before I could actually visit.
I could have gone if I had really wanted to, but the timing just wouldn't align, which was so strange.
Looking back now, I think those two years were a necessary period of time.

What I wished for at that place I finally reached
When I finally arrived at Nakanotake Shrine,
the very first thing I thought was,
"I finally made it."
That was the only thing I could say.
At that time, I was lost in both my work and my life.
I didn't know what I should be doing.
But I didn't want things to stay this way.
That feeling, at least, was clear.
What I asked for in front of the deity was,
"Please guide me so that I can live by my own strength."
That was it.
I didn't want someone to save me.
I wanted to be able to stand on my own two feet.
It was a visit where I realized that true intention for myself.

I was trying so hard, but things weren't going well.
Just because I visited the shrine didn't mean my life changed immediately.
In fact, for a while after that, I just kept spinning my wheels.
"That's not it either."
"This isn't working out either."
Those were my days 😭
But, around that time, I realized something.
What I had been choosing wasn't what I wanted to do, but rather,
"things that didn't seem like they would fail"
all along!
Things that looked safe in the eyes of others.
It might look like I have it all together.
Even if I choose based on criteria like that, my heart won't be moved, will it?
Things that continued even without trying
In the midst of all that, there was one thing that mysteriously continued.
That was 'writing'.
I end up writing without even thinking that I need to try hard.
Before I know it, I'm writing again.
This might be it!
It was around this time that I was able to think that.
Perhaps life has hints not in 'things you can work hard at,'
but in 'things you find yourself doing without realizing it.'
I think the hints might be in those things.
At that moment, I decided, 'I'll try writing a blog and sharing it.'
That visit was the turning point
Looking back now, I think what I received at Nakanotake Shrine was
Live honestly with your own heart.
I believe that was the resolve I gained.
It's painful even though I'm trying hard.
At times like that, it might not be that you aren't trying hard enough, but just that the direction you're heading is a little off.
When I was also thinking, 'I have to try harder,' I couldn't really move forward.
However, I feel like the scenery started to change little by little once I began to cherish the things I naturally keep doing 😊
At Makata Shrine, which I visited a little while ago, I felt as if I were being encouraged to "believe in myself and move forward."
「自分を信じて進もう」と、
背中を押してもらえたように感じました。
And it was in that flow that I visited Nakanotake Shrine.
Thinking back now, this visit might have been one of the major turning points for me.
If there is a "place you are curious about" or "something you can't forget for some reason" right now, please cherish that feeling.
「気になっている場所」や
「なぜか忘れられないこと」があるなら、
その感覚を大切にしてみてください。
Beyond that, the scenery you need right now might be waiting for you.
