The day I saw myself in loungewear and felt a bit discouraged
When you've decided that today is a day to stay home and relax.
What kind of fashion do you spend your time in?
I wear clothes that I don't particularly like, but are in good condition and warm, as my everyday wear.
They are clothes I use for lounging around the house.
At least they are decent enough to wear if someone suddenly drops by.
But ever since I moved the full-length mirror to the living room, it's been bothering me.
Seeing myself in clothes that don't suit me!
Every time I catch a glimpse of myself, the stress slowly builds up.
So, I took all the clothes out of my closet for a total inspection.
When I separated the clothes I definitely wanted to keep, I realized something.
I want to wear bright, light colors✨
I don't want to wear heavy colors🌀
Last year, with my child's entrance exams, my mindset was that of a
"solid mother"
image.
That's why I wore navy and dark, plain colors.
But once it was over, I felt so relieved!
The spring clothes I bought right away were bright pastel colors👚
And now, a year later.
The clothes I have for this season are the plain ones from the exam period.
My mood feels heavy, and I don't want to wear them.
A black Uniqlo sweat skirt I forgot I even had.
A navy cut-and-sew top with a neckline so wide I don't feel like wearing it.
Since it's comfortable, I tried wearing this top and bottom, and it definitely felt lackluster.
When I added a pastel-colored cardigan that I wanted to wear but rarely do, it instantly brightened up😊
It's not fashionable, but my mood is bright✨
The stress is less now.
At this moment, I decided that I should let go of the clothes I don't like.
Even if they are just loungewear,
I felt that by wearing them, I was telling myself that these clothes are good enough for me.
Every time I look in the mirror, I feel like I am
imprinting that on myself,
and I thought that wasn't good.
I realized that I really shouldn't wear clothes that just don't make me feel good.
In that case, I thought a sweatshirt in a color that suits me, even if it's cheap, would be better.
I observed the clothes I own and realized something.
My preference has changed from cool tones to warm tones.
The sharp, crisp version of me has left,
and I've become a softer, more gentle version of myself.
That's how I want to be💗
You might be someone who doesn't care about how you look in loungewear,
or has never even thought about it.
But you know, if you put a full-length mirror in your living room,
you might not be able to pretend you don't see it anymore.
