Abstract Painting Production Log - Within the act of painting, there is the act of not painting -

When I decide not to paint something,
I look at the painting and
have a dialogue with it.

What is there now?
There is rhythm and direction.
I want to add color.
But is it necessary?
The current simple strength might be diluted.
Even if it is diluted, something else will be added.
But that will aim for a different destination.
Am I not always choosing the same path?
So this time, I won't go that way.

It's like that.


I dared to make this drawing simple. "Lines" determine flow, direction, and rhythm.
When you make a painting with only "lines," it becomes very clear.

Drawing lines feels good.
The first drawings people make are usually lines, aren't they?
It's natural.

Now, I have decided not to place this color.

That, too, is part of the act of painting.

Placing colors and placing lines are not the only things that constitute "painting."


Not painting,
and also looking,
are the roots of painting.
