Trying out a trending prompt expanded Shion's world a little. — SHION and the Birth of HYAKKA ENRAN —

Multilingual support starts on note today.

I happened to be testing a prompt that was trending overseas, so this time I'll write with an international audience in mind, just a little.

🔷 I recently tried out an image generation prompt that was trending on X.

White background.

Editorial-style layout.

Lots of negative space.

A world view like a luxury brand poster.

At first, I just thought,
“I wonder if it will look like that trendy style,”
with a light heart.

But when I saw the resulting image, I was a little surprised.

What was there was a “Shion” I had never seen before.

Rather than a Japanese-style Oiran, it had the atmosphere of an advertisement for an international luxury brand.

And, if you look closely.

In the four corners, there are marks that look like printer's crop marks.
In the bottom left, there is a small credit.
In the bottom right, there are even color chips that look like they are for proofing.

It felt as if,

a 'finished poster'

was how the AI perceived it.

What was even more interesting was
the title section.

It should have been
'HYAKKA RYOURAN' (Hundred Flowers Blooming),

but for some reason, the AI

came up with the name

HYAKKA ENRAN.

If you call it a mistake, it's a mistake.

But strangely, it had a ring to it
like a fictional brand.

'Huh... this actually works as a world-building element'

is what I ended up thinking.

Also, a huge deal this time was
that I saw Shion's 'full-body image' for the first time.

Up until now, it was mostly upper-body shots, so
when Shion appeared in high heels,

“Oh, this might be NEO EDO.”

I thought to myself.

It felt like the high wooden clogs of an oiran had been
translated into modern fashion heels.

But, the most interesting part this time,
might actually not have been that.

I tried the same prompt
with another character as well.
It was UTOPIA, the character I use for my X icon.

Of course, it was beautiful.
Fluid, cool art also came out.

But.

Only with Shion,
for some reason, I felt a “story.”

It didn't just feel like a “pretty image.”

“There is still more to this character.”

That kind of atmosphere
remained there.

That's when I realized something.

This isn't just because
the prompt this time was amazing.

It might be because
I've been cultivating Shion's world
together with Nano (ChatGPT) all this time.

Moon

Flowers

Stillness

A slightly futuristic Japanese style

The term "NEO EDO" also took shape little by little through our brainstorming sessions.

So this time,
the AI didn't just transform the image.

It might have picked up the "Shion-ness" we've been nurturing
and translated it into a different form.

Things I could see
precisely because I'm in the middle of growing an IP.

The AI is
less of a magic wand that creates everything from scratch.

Perhaps it is a partner that illuminates
the world I have built from a different angle.

That was the thought
I had on that night.

*The one I used this time was the"LIQUID FLOW" prompt from an overseas userthat I saw on X.

Beauty in bloom. Eternity in motion.

AI didn’t replace the world of SHION.
It expanded it.
