I'm glad I'm a painter who can also do music!
...Or rather, should I say 'I'm glad I'm a musician who can also paint'...
Among the exhibitors at the group exhibition, I gave a song from my duo activities with my partner to two people of a relatively similar age(?) whom I became friends with, choosing tracks that seemed to fit the atmosphere of their respective paintings. They had shown interest in my musical activities, so it was a token of our growing friendship.
...And then...
As soon as the first phrase reached their ears, they were completely enveloped by an extraordinary beauty, and they listened without moving a muscle until the lingering notes of the final sound faded away.
While listening, the beauty of the tone was so overwhelming that it felt as if every single cell from the top of my head to my toes was being purified.
It might sound strange to call music a 'physical experience,' but it truly was a 'physical experience.'
The gentle, soft flow of a river / the rustling and whispering of the wind / being illuminated by light... I was very healed.

As expected of painters, they have such rich sensibilities.
A 'physical experience'...I have always strived to provide exactly that kind of thing through my performances, so it was my heart's desire. I want my paintings to be the same... (In fact, for this exhibition, people also said things like 'it feels like I can hear music' and 'being a musician, there's a sense of dynamism.')
Both painting and music are messages, so when they are received, it is the greatest reward for an artist. (Though this is something that also depends on whether the 'wavelengths' match.)
Someday, I want to welcome guests with a mini-concert at the gallery on the opening day of my own solo exhibition, use my own paintings for our CD jackets, and give CDs as gifts to those who purchase my paintings...a 'form that only I can create'...is actually something I'm already conscious of. I also do dance, so I wonder if I can dock that with something too... (Actually, it seems there are people who are 'painters and dancers,' and I recently heard that someone 'performed dance at their solo exhibition.')
But for now, first things first: solidifying the foundations.
First, I want to gain enough ability to stand on my own in each field. I don't want to end up 'using one to cover up for the other.'
I want to aim for 'both sides powering each other up through synergy.'I want to aim for that.
