Right in the Heart of the Service Industry

It happened at my side job. While I was standing at the register, a staff member was restocking items on the shelf in front of the register.
They were piling snack bags into a basket like there was no tomorrow. In fact, while holding that basket, they were trying to grab even more snacks with their other free hand.
Since there were no customers, I grabbed a new basket and ran over. The staff member thanked me, split the mountain of snacks into two baskets, and carried them away.
A senior colleague who was at the other register saw this and said to me:
"Yoshioka-san, you're very observant. Did you work in customer service or the service industry before?"
"No, not at all. I was an office worker, or rather, I did desk work..."
I had actually been a systems engineer, but I was so bad at it that I couldn't confidently say, "I was an engineer." Even though I was struggling for an answer, calling myself an "office lady" was quite anachronistic, even for me.
"You don't look like it at all. That's amazing."
Being praised directly to my face is embarrassing. Thinking that, I replied, "No, no, not at all."

What I've been thinking a lot lately is that, ultimately, isn't every job a service industry?
Take the construction industry, for example. Their job is to build houses, but the goal beyond that is to provide a comfortable life for the client.
Chefs, doctors, dry cleaners, hair salons, too.
Couldn't it be said that anyone who provides something for the customers who use their services is in the service industry?
It's not just B2C. It's the same for B2B. The customer for a company that manufactures car parts is an automaker. But there is always a user beyond that. It is also a service that provides a means of transportation called a car.

Turning to writers.
What should I write to be helpful to the reader?
What should I write to move the reader's heart?
I am providing a service to the reader using the tool of words.
Actually, isn't it right in the heart of the service industry?
That's why I must be suited to be a writer!
