Sea Glass Story #7 Work ⑥ Sea Glass Christmas Tree

It happened when a friend from work took me to a restaurant in Hakodate.

The restaurant manager saw the sea glass keychain I had made previously attached to my bag,
and they really liked it, saying, "This is nice!"

So, I told them about how I first picked up sea glass on the beach in Hakodate,
and how I was drawn to its charm and made this keychain.

Then, when I showed them a video of the
sea glass rainbow light I had made before...

"I want this!"

they said.

It was essentially "trash" picked up from the beach.
They were the first person to say they "wanted" a piece I had made as an amateur
from such materials.

I was so happy, and when I said,

"If you'd like, I can make one and bring it next time,"

they replied,

"I'd like to buy it."

But to me, it was just

something like an extension of an amateur's summer vacation craft project.
So when I declined, saying,

"I don't need any money,"

they...

They let me have my meal that day for free (lol).

That is where I created the
sea glass Christmas tree.

To be honest,
when I made the sea glass rainbow light,
I used up all the light blue sea glass,

so I made this with the "leftovers"
centered around green and brown sea glass that I had on hand.

I also used seashells around the edges
to add a garland-like decoration.

But considering the durability,
I was worried they might fall off easily...

I debated until the very end whether to attach them.

Of course, this piece also
has a rainbow lighting feature.

And I made it so you can
change it to your favorite color with a remote control.

I presented this piece
to the manager in Hakodate.

The manager was truly happy, and

it made me feel so happy
to know that even my amateur work

could bring someone so much joy.

By the way, that day too...

The meal was free. Lol

Honestly,
I felt bad about getting a free meal
for something made from trash picked up on the beach,

but I gratefully accepted the manager's kindness
and enjoyed it.

I would go on to gift this restaurant
my crowning achievement of sea glass art in Hakodate.
