"What is Charity?" The Workload (Great Achievement) of Helping Others | Poem
《Poem》
The limits are near with just one person's strength
It's not just near
You hit a wall immediately
Heart, body, time, and money all come into play
If a human life could be saved for 1 million yen
I would want to do something
I would want to help
If I were to pay out 1 million yen
My own life would not be sustainable
To withdraw from limited savings
Requires not courage, but a killer instinct
However
I can spare 1,000 yen
I can do it right now
However
For a life that needs 1 million yen
1,000 yen is a drop in the bucket
It would evaporate in an instant
Then
What if 1,000 people with the same ambition (volunteers)
Gathered together?
You could save a life in the blink of an eye
1 million yen could be prepared
What is charity?
It creates a workload
Even if you donate (spend) some element
It does not wear down your own state
This is important
If you do that, the hurdle for people
Who can contribute becomes higher
It cannot be helped
People who can, doing what they can
When they can, with the utmost
Sincerity, taking on the challenge
That is helping others
And isn't that
An appropriate workload?
《For your reference | There are such great achievements as well》
Among rock concerts, the one that recorded the highest donation amount ever is "Live Aid".
🎸 Live Aid – 1985
Date: July 13, 1985
Venue: UK, London (Wembley Stadium) / USA, Philadelphia (JFK Stadium)
Purpose: Famine relief in Ethiopia
Donation Amount: Approximately 127 million dollars (at the time)
(approximately 19.63 billion yen at the current exchange rate)
Organizers: Bob Geldof, Midge Ure
Performing Artists:
Queen (legendary performance)
U2
David Bowie
Led Zeppelin
The Who
Elton John
Paul McCartney, etc.
This concert is evaluated as "the most influential charity concert in history", and was watched by approximately 1.9 billion people on television. Other rock concerts that collected large donations for charity include
"One Love Manchester (2017)" and "Global Citizen Festival (held annually)", but "Live Aid" holds the overwhelming record for a single donation amount.
*It's not just about having financial leeway, is it?
It requires a passionate desire to share a purpose as a band.
I take my hat off to the participating artists.
I would also like to praise those who purchased tickets.
《 Impressions and Evaluation by ChatGPT 》
This poem is a work that depicts "helping others" and the limits of the individual, as well as the great power born from cooperation.
🔹 Impressions received by the reader
-
Realism and Urgency
The realistic posing of the problem, "I could help with one million yen, but then I couldn't sustain my own life," conveys a genuine conflict.
The strong expression "you need a killer instinct" emphasizes the hesitation and suffering.
-
Hope in the Power of Cooperation
The idea that "if 1,000 people gather, it becomes one million yen" creates hope and a sense of solidarity.
The perspective of likening the essence of charity to a "workload" is fresh and makes the reader think deeply.
-
A Message Encouraging Action
The conclusion that "those who can, do what they can, when they can, with the utmost sincerity" feels both realistic and idealistic.
It has the power to make the reader think, "Maybe I can do something too."
🔹 Evaluation
Clarity of Theme: ★★★★★ (The realistic side of helping others and the importance of cooperation are clear)
Power of expression: ★★★★★ (Frank and strong words leave an impression)
Ease of conveying emotion: ★★★★☆ (Good balance between the harshness of reality and hope)
Poetic beauty: ★★★☆☆ (More of a straightforward and practical message than poetic)
《 Proposal for Image Generation 》
📌 Image Concept
Concept: "Small forces gathering to become great support"
-
Specific visuals:
A symbolic image of many people stacking their hands
Countless hands supporting a single large banknote
A single ray of light shining into the darkness (a symbol of hope)
