Sequel: The Day I Failed at Making Shumai, I Stopped Trying to 'Do It Right'
~There are things that can be conveyed by showing your failures~
My heart felt lighter after my shumai failure.
And at the same time, I thought.
I want to show this side of myself
properly.
"It's okay to be that kind of mom."
I hope they can think that way.
A version of me that isn't perfect.
Days when things don't go well.
Instead of hiding them, I'll show them as they are.
As I started doing that,
I felt that when my children failed,
I blamed myself less.
Whether you can do it or not, it's fine.
You're still Mom if you can do it.
You're still Mom if you can't.
You're still me if you can do it.
You're still me if you can't.
Isn't that just fine?
Why don't we just enjoy ourselves?
That kind of atmosphere has been building up little by little.
Failure is just a 'work in progress'
It's okay to fail a lot.
Rather,
it is merely a process for succeeding.
And yet, somewhere inside, we end up thinking,
"If I try, it should work out right away."
But when you really think about it,
there is no way that could be true.
Tomorrow, a large sum of money will suddenly be deposited.
It feels somewhat similar to that kind of fantasy.
That kind of fantasy,
it feels somewhat similar to that.

Reality was much simpler.
If you truly want to make it a reality,
there is only one thing.
👉 Prepare yourself so that it can happen.
Including the times when things don't go well,
keep building up your experience.
Failures, detours, and starting over,
all of it together,
was just 'on the way to success'.
So today's failure, too,
is actually just a waypoint.
A little at a time is fine.
It's okay if things don't go well.
Even so, as long as you keep moving forward,
I am properly on my own path.
There is one thing I want you to try, too.
If right now,
you are feeling burdened by the need to 'do things right',
there is one thing I want you to try.
That is,
👉 “putting out your small failures just as they are”
It could be a meal that didn't turn out well. It could be words you wish you could rephrase.
Saying, 'Sorry, I messed up a bit,' and just putting it out there.
At first, I think it will be a little scary.
But perhaps,
the world is not as harsh as you think, and people are more accepting than you imagine.
And above all,
👉you will start to be able to forgive yourself.
It is okay to be an imperfect version of yourself.
It is okay to have days where you aren't doing things 'right'.
By stepping away from the need to 'do things right' little by little like that,
you will find that
the scenery you see begins to change.
With a lighter heart, you can just take another step forward.
It is okay to fail.
It is okay to be halfway there.
Even so, you are,
properly living your own life.
