In the morning, I ventilate the house and wipe the floors.
Mornings while visiting home have a slightly different sound to the house.

Since my parents are already up at 4:30, it's a lively morning with daily life sounds that are different from usual.

Breakfast is finished, and it's 8:30 AM.
The Sunday tradition of Precure time.

And it begins with a peaceful time of putting back on the nail stickers that my daughters had lost.

Their tiny nails shine brightly and vividly.
The sisters look at their hands happily, saying, "Wow! So pretty!" and "So cute!"

Perhaps these casual moments are becoming special memories of my time back home.

Forms of Jealousy and Affection

At 9:45 AM, we went to my cousin's house.
We went to see the baby who will be 100 days old soon. Giving them a birth gift and souvenirs, it was a moment to feel the warmth of a small life for the first time in a while.

While I was feeding the baby, my second daughter's demeanor changed.
She became more clingy than usual, sticking to me even more. Is this jealousy?

In her own six-year-old way, she is sensitively picking up on the attention and affection the adults are showering on the baby.

But because she also wants to be a big sister, she sat quietly to the side and waited patiently until the feeding was over.

For a snack, we all ate the goldfish jellies I had bought as souvenirs. The cool sweetness of the goldfish jellies made not only the children but also the adults squint their eyes in delight.

The BBQ started at 3:30 PM.
The savory scents of scallops, beef tongue, and shrimp mingled into the summer air.

At 6:50 PM, the handmade shaved ice shop opened.
The children's cheers rang out.

I have the feeling that each moment is being carefully layered.
I realize that this is the richness of "family time."

What the Fireworks Light Up

Fireworks started at 7:00 PM.
The children were super excited about the handheld fireworks.

The small lights floating in the darkness illuminated everyone's smiles.

Although the light of the fireworks disappears in an instant, the warmth and smiles felt in that moment will surely remain in our hearts for a long time.

My second daughter's small feelings of jealousy also seemed to naturally soften during this time spent with the whole family.

Perhaps she is sensing in her own way that affection is not something to be fought over, but something that grows by being shared.

The children all said, "We're going to take a bath with Grandma!" so I asked my mother to do one last big job.

The lively day comes to a quiet end.

Conversations with my great-grandmother, who answers the same questions over and over.
The little one who clings tightly to me.

Repetition is not boredom, but a sign of security.

Instead of comparing, I try counting the smiles that are here now.
It was a day spent just like that.
