The morning air was clear, and as I watered the garden plants, I found myself naturallyhumminga tune.

Under a brilliant blue sky.
The children's voices were lively in the car on the way to the pool.

“We’re going to play our hearts out today!”I felt a mix of excitement and a small, lingering melancholy of“work starts again tomorrow,”which made me brace myself slightly.

Even though the gates didn't open until 9:00, by the time we arrived at 8:00, the area in front of the reception window was already bustling with families. We met up with a friend's family, went inside, andsecured a spot with plenty of shade and a good view.

Just as I felt relieved about finding the perfect spot,an unexpected reunionwas waiting for us. We bumped into three of my eldest daughter's friends from nursery school.

The children, who had been tired of waiting in line, suddenly brightened up. My heart also leaped at this long-awaited reunion.

The moment the children's circle expands

With the siblings of her nursery school friends joining in, the circle of children expanded in an instant.

As if leaping over the years that had passed, the children immediately hit it off, splashing around with cheers.

Although the number of children had increased, there were also more adults watching, which actually made it easier to move around.

We could play in multiple areas, and by taking turns keeping watch, we could let the children play with more peace of mind than usual.

While following them as they swam in the large lazy river pool, I caught up with my mom friend. Thanks to that, I was able to let my guard down.

Amidst the voices calling out “Come over here!” and “Let’s slide together!” by the poolside, the children naturally found ways to play together, with the older ones looking after the younger ones.

Watching that scene, I felt once again how natural and important “connections” are for children.

The warmth of a friendship that has continued even after graduating from nursery school touched my heart.

The flow of time felt through an all-you-can-eat meal

By noon, the pool had become crowded.
We left the pool and went to a Chinese buffet with our friends.

Biting into a freshly steamed xiaolongbao, smiles broke out as the juices spread. Amidst the sounds of “This is delicious!” and “I want to try that too!”time flowed slowly.

We enjoyed the dessert shaved ice and soft-serve ice cream so much that I thought, “Are you still eating!?” The adults also talked about our recent lives and parenting.

It was a luxurious time, worth more than the price, where we could savor the meal slowly together, unlike our usual hurried meals.

Preparing for tomorrow and organizing my heart

After returning home, I finished the housework and laundry all at once.
A feeling where “fun” and “tiredness” coexist.

While savoring the lingering joy of a fun day, I began to shift my mindset toward the daily routine starting tomorrow.

Sunday afternoons are usually when I don't make many plans.
The children's smiles, the chance reunion at the pool, and the casual conversations shared around the table. Each one of those things made me think, “I’m glad I did today.”

Watching the children's friendships, what I felt wasthe importance of “supporting each other.”

Just as it’s easier to move when there are more adult eyes, I think parenting becomes richer when you don't carry it all alone and value your connections with those around you.

It was a day that made me realize that time spent with family friends is not only a special memory for the children but also a precious source of emotional support for parents.
