Is it really important to live in the 'here and now'?
Every event in life is a world reflected by your own heart.
Hello.
To keep your heart calm and find happiness.
I am Yukiyo-chan, here to help you gently untie the knots in your heart and return to your true self🌿
The other day, I received this comment on note.
“Always maintaining critical thinking so as not to fall into assumptions. That is wonderful✨”
When I read that comment,
“I see.”
While I thought that,
I realized something.
I,
was not consciously thinking about critical thinking.
Before that,
there was something I was unconsciously valuing.
🌱 I did not start with questions
I,
deliver the question,
“Is that really so?”
However,
when I look back on my sessions,
What I was doing at first,
was not asking questions.
The first thing I was doing was,
bringing the other person's consciousness,
back to the here and now.
Feeling the breath.
Feeling the body.
Feeling this very moment.
Then,
the consciousness that was directed toward the past or future,
gradually returns to the 'now'.
From there,
the dialogue would finally begin.
🌿 We return to this many times during the session as well
Actually,
the same thing happens during the session.
While talking,
consciousness returns to the past.
'Back then, my mother...'
'Back then, I was told something like that...'
Or,
I fly off into the future.
'What if I fail?'
'I'm sure it will happen again.'
At times like that,
I don't look for an answer.
For a moment,
I have them return to the here and now.
Then,
their breathing changes.
Their expression changes.
Even the atmosphere of the room changes.
And then,
the question itself begins to change.
🌸 Why questions don't work well
I used to find it strange.
Even though it is the same
'Is that really true?'
question,
while some people feel their hearts lighten,
For some people, it actually makes things more painful.
What is the difference?
I finally understood recently.
It is not that the question is different.
The consciousness behind the questioning was different.
🍃 The stronger your assumptions, the more off-base your questions become
When fear is strong,
the questions become ones that prove your fear.
When anxiety is strong,
you only look for answers that confirm your anxiety.
When you want to dominate,
you look for ways to change the other person.
When you want to control,
you look for answers that go your way.
In other words,
the question itself,
gets pulled along by your assumptions.
Even though the person thinks they are asking a question,
in reality,
they may have already decided on the answer from the start.
Therefore,
rather than the quality of the question,
the consciousness with which you are asking the questionis what I realized is more important.
🌱 When you return to the here and now, the question changes
When you return to the here and now,
the question changes.
'I don't want to be disliked by that person.'
This question,
'What am I afraid of?'
changes to this.
Furthermore,
'What do I really want to do?'
changes to this.
It is not that the answer changes.
The consciousness of the self asking the question changes.
Therefore,
the answer that comes back also changes.
🌿 What I wanted to convey
I,
'Let's enjoy the here and now.'
That is not what I mean to say.
What I want to convey is,
returning to an awareness of the here and now.
And asking questions from that place.
Then,
the answer that comes back,
will not be fear,
or anxiety,
or someone else's version of the truth.
Little by little,
I feel like I am getting closer to my true self's voice.
🌸 Conclusion
I believe that,
the question,
'Is that really true?'
is very important.
However,
what is even more important is,
what kind of awareness you bring to the question.
Are you asking from the past?
Are you asking from the future?
Or,
are you asking from the consciousness of the here and now?
Even with the same question,
if the place you are standing is different,
the scenery you see changes completely.
That is why today, too,
I will,
return to the here and now.
Feel your breath.
Feel your body.
Feel this very moment.
And then,
quietly ask.
"Is that really so?"
That question,
is not meant to deny anyone.
I believe it is a question,
to remember the voice of my true self once again.
Thank you for reading today as well,
Thank you very much🌿
