๐ฟ Introduction
Today, too,
thank you for choosing
this time.
This place
is not a place to erase your emotions.
It is a time
to cherish and accept your feelings.
On your journey so far,
you have gradually
encountered the assumptions that were causing you pain,
and the mental rules of 'how things should be'.
Those rules
were not created to cause you pain,
but were born to protect the you of that time.
Today,
beyond those rules,
we are going to meet what has been waiting quietly all this time.
That is,
It is your emotion.
First,
let's return to the 'here and now' for a moment.
๐ฌ The here and now is everything
Sit in a comfortable position.
You can close your eyes slowly,
or it is fine if you don't.
First,
let's try exhaling for a long time.
Feel the tension in your body,
releasing little by little.
Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds.
Hold for 2 seconds.
Over 8 seconds,
exhale slowly.
Repeat this breathing 3 times.
Once your breathing is steady,
gently place your hand on your chest.
And then,
slowly, 3 times,
Let's chant it.
'The here and now is everything.'
'The here and now is everything.'
'The here and now is everything.'
Just for a little while,
spend some quiet time.
Right now,
what are you feeling?
Let's continue to cherish,
the way you feel today as well.
๐ฟ Are emotions the bad guys?
Sadness.
Frustration.
Loneliness.
Fear.
Anger.
When such feelings well up,
we,
often end up saying,
'Don't cry.'
"You shouldn't get angry."
"You're overthinking it."
"Let's forget about it quickly."
But,
there is something a little strange.
If,
emotions were only there to trouble you,
why,
again and again,
does your heart try to convey those feelings?
Today, too,
to you,
I deliver just one question.
"Is that really so?"
๐ฟ Emotions are messages from the heart
Deep within anger,
there may be a wounded heart.
Deep within sadness,
there may be feelings that were precious.
Deep within anxiety,
You may have a desire to feel at ease.
Deep within loneliness,
there may be a desire to connect with someone.
Emotions are,
not enemies that trouble you.
In truth,
they are trying to tell you something,
they are messages from your heart.
๐ฟ We have learned to put away our emotions
When we were children.
If we were crying,
we were told,
"Stop crying now."
If we were angry,
we were told,
"You shouldn't speak like that."
If we looked sad,
we were told,
"You're worrying too much."
As we accumulated such experiences,
We
learned to put things away
rather than to feel them.
That is not
because we were weak.
It is because that way,
we could live with peace of mind.
So even now,
when emotions well up,
we unconsciously try to put them away.
But,
emotions
have not disappeared.
They have been,
all along, waiting for the day you notice them.
โ๏ธ Today's Work
Today,
is not a work to eliminate emotions.
It is a work to meet
your feelings once again.
STEP 1 | How are you feeling right now?
Open your notebook,
and write down the feelings
you are experiencing right now just as they are.
If you can't find the words,
a color,
a line,
or a circle is fine.
First,
let's find the feelings that are 'here and now'.
STEP 2 | What is that feeling trying to tell you?
Choose just one.
Then,
try asking it a question.
'What did you come here to tell me?'
'What did you actually want me to do?'
'What were you trying to protect?'
Write down whatever comes to mind,
just as it is.
STEP 3 | Observe that feeling without blaming it
One more thing,
I have a question for you.
"If my best friend felt the same way,
what would I say to them?"
Take those words,
and this time,
try saying them to yourself.
STEP 4 | Say "Thank You" to Your Emotions
Finally,
place your hand on your chest.
And then,
to that emotion,
say just one thing.
"Thank you for noticing."
"Thank you for protecting me."
"Thank you for working so hard up until now."
Emotions,
when denied, become painful.
But,
when they are accepted,
You will gradually feel at ease.
๐ What the 5th Door wanted to convey
Emotions are
not enemies that cause you trouble.
They are
proof that you have lived with all your might.
So,
today,
sadness,
anger,
and anxiety,
you don't need to blame them.
First,
'I see, that's how you were feeling.'
Please accept them in that way.
With just that,
your heart will gradually remember how to feel at ease.
๐ฑ The week starting today
This week,
I am sad.
I feel angry.
I feel anxious.
When such feelings arise,
don't try to erase them immediately,
please try to pause.
And then,
open your notebook,
and try writing just one line.
'I am feeling โโ right now.'
Below that,
write a question.
'Is that really true?'
And then,
just one more thing.
'What is this emotion'
trying to tell me?'
It is okay if you don't find an answer.
Continuing to hold the question,
little by little,
will bring you back to your true self.
๐ฑ Next, to the 6th door
On this journey so far,
you have,
with your own emotions,
reconnected once again.
At the next door,
regarding 'forgiving yourself',
we will look together.
Forgiving is,
not about enduring,
nor is it about forgetting.
It is about,
setting yourself free, little by little.
Today, too,
to you,
I deliver just one question.
'Is that really so?'
To that question,
there is no correct answer.
And that is precisely why,
Please continue to cherish the way you feel.
From now on as well.
Well then,
I will see you at the 6th door.
With heartfelt gratitude.
