I tried spinning a suspicious gacha to break out of my daily rut 🧪

The same old days keep repeating.

Work, look at my phone, realize it's night, and go to sleep.
“What did I do yesterday again?” is something I find myself saying more often.

It's not like it's a terrible day.
But it's not memorable either.

That's when Jikken decided to try out a suspicious gacha.

What comes out of the gacha isn't a quest to save the world.

It's a small mission, just like this.
It's a trivial thing, but because I
chose to do it myself it stays in my memory.
That's the story of this gacha.

The first thing that came out was “Clean your desk for just 2 minutes”

Honestly, it's underwhelming.
As something coming out of a gacha, I was expecting something a bit more flashy.

But when I looked at my desk, there were things left out and left sitting there.
I had just been pretending not to see them, but they had been entering my field of vision little by little every day.

I didn't have the intention to clean everything up.
I thought, well, 2 minutes is fine, so I started.

Then, strangely enough, just by clearing a little space on the desk, my mind felt a little clearer too.
After that, for some reason, things went a bit more smoothly.

It seems that when your desk is tidy, your mind gets a little tidier too.

The next thing that came out was “Choose a drink you don't usually have”

I chose a carbonated drink called NOPE.

I'm curious about drinks like this.

But usually, I end up buying the same old thing in the end.
I don't want to fail, and I want to feel safe with at least my drink.

But today, since it came out of the gacha, I hesitated a little in front of the shelf and picked it up.

I couldn't imagine the taste at all, so I took the first sip with trepidation.

It was fruity and actually kind of delicious.

Is it like a non-medicinal Dr. Pepper? It's a flavor that's hard to put into words.

Maybe this alone won't change my life.

But a small trace was left behind: “I chose something I wouldn't have chosen otherwise”.

The last one was “Go to solo karaoke”

My first time doing solo karaoke in my life.

Before going in, I felt a little bit of strange nervousness.

Even though all I had to say at the reception was "Just one person," for some reason, it felt like a small trial.

But once I was in the room, there was no one else.

Since no one was watching, I could blast my favorite songs.
Even if I queued the same artist 10 times in a row, no one would stop me.

Since no one would stop me, I didn't stop.

In a room with a spinning disco ball, with fries and melon soda in front of me,
I sang my heart out.

Whether I was good or not didn't matter anymore.

Time spent raising my voice just for myself feels better than I thought.

It was the best.

My life hasn't changed.

But today is no longer exactly the same as yesterday.

It seems I didn't need a grand resolution to break the rut.
All that was needed was to choose one
small noise to mix into todaysmall noise.
