Organize your desk environment and make yourself happy through your five senses!
I would like to participate in this project!
Thank you, Akari Kudo.
My hobby is writing with digital devices. I work fully remotely. No matter how unmotivated I am, sitting at my desk and typing on the keyboard is a must.
But there are times when you just don't feel like it, right?
And in those cases, it's often the case that if you can just sit down, you'll be able to manage somehow...
In other words,a desk environment that makes you want to sit down no matter whatis what you should create.
The key to creating a "desk environment that makes you want to sit down no matter what" is... to attack yourfive senses!
The secret to my "good mood" is to fill all my available senses with things that are as comfortable as possible.
Sight: Stick something up, even if it's just in front of your eyes
Anything is fine. Paper, cloth, whatever.
The important thing is that itstimulates your creativity.
I have covered my desk with stickers from my favorite series that I bought at Daiso.
When I look at these, I feel like something comes to mind.

It might be good to cover it with photos or postcards! I'd be happy with things that show me scenery outside the room or things that expand my imagination.
Hearing: Play BGM or an opening song
When I write at night, I often listen to music by a piano composer named Chair House.
Many of the songs have a relaxed tempo, and they are so soothing that I could even take a nap.
I basically write in silence in the morning, but sometimes I play an"opening song"to get my engine running. I choose an upbeat song depending on my mood. This helps me get through my morning chores and skincare routine!
Sense of smell: Burning incense
Even after getting pumped up with an opening song, I'm the type who wants to relax while writing.
Every morning, before starting my morning routine like Morning Pages, I burn sandalwood incense.

Sandalwood is essentially the scent of incense sticks at a Buddhist altar, but for me, it's the scent of my grandparents' house that I visited during summer vacation. It's soothing.
Sense of taste: Changing my go-to drinks based on current trends
I was a black coffee drinker for a long time, but recently I've been into milk coffee, so I add Creap to my coffee. Sometimes a little sugar, too.
I consume glucose in the morning, but sometimes I add chocolate or macarons...
Personally, I think approaching things through the sense of taste is the most powerful method! Because the desire to eat or drink is born. You sit at your desk to satisfy that desire. There's no way you won't be able to sit down (laughs).
Sense of touch: Being particular about the keyboard
If I'm writing on a computer, the one thing I don't want to compromise on is the keyboard. You can't write without touching it.
For Bluetooth keyboards, I love the Logicool POP series, and for laptops, I love the typing feel of HP.

I really love that snappy feel of the HP...
When I'm on a roll, it goes snap-snap-snap-snap... It's so light and rhythmic that I just want to keep typing.
If you find a keyboard that makes you want to type, you've probably 'won.' You can think, 'I'm writing just to type on this keyboard!' It's the best.
Summary
I have compiled some tips for organizing your desk environment to delight your five senses.
Sight: Put something up, even if it's just right in front of you
Hearing: Play BGM or an opening theme song (★)
Smell: Burn incense (★)
Taste: Change your snacks occasionally based on current trends (★)
Touch: Be particular about your keyboard
Although I didn't mention it much in the main text, a key point of the items marked with ★ is that they are easy to change according to your mood or current interests.
If you find something you're really into right now, please try using it as a companion for your writing.
I'll let you know if I find anything good, too. I'll keep pursuing a desk environment that never gets boring!
