Announcing the results of the "#TellUsAboutYourObsession" submission contest held by SKY PerfecTV! and note!
The "#TellUsAboutYourObsession" submission contest, which ran for about a month starting February 14, 2025, invited people to share their love for their "oshi" (favorite). During the period (2/14-3/16), we received 10,504 entries! Thank you for submitting such wonderful works filled with love.

As a result of the selection process, the winners have been decided as follows.
Grand Prix (1 entry)
To the monsters who were my friends
While cleaning out her parents' house for certain reasons, the author, Ohanashi (ono), finds an old, nostalgic "Ultraman Encyclopedia" reinforced with duct tape. This was a precious treasure her mother bought for her for 10 yen when she was a child. During the time she spent alone until her working mother came home, this book comforted Ohanashi (ono) and nurtured a deep love for monsters. Recently, her mother passed away, and her father had to undergo surgery. Amidst this, it is moving to see her recalling the experience of overcoming childhood loneliness with the monsters and trying to regain a positive outlook.
The judges highly praised it, saying, "I was so emotionally invested I almost cried. It is highly polished as a piece of writing," "It has the power to make the reader feel positive," "It offers a new realization that things you loved as a child might have been an 'obsession'," and "It has the potential to be a catalyst for many people to rediscover the things they love."
[Winner's Comment]
I am very happy to have received the Grand Prix.
I thought of my parents, whom I have loved since the moment I was born, as my 'oshi'.
However, I thought that writing directly about my mother who passed away this year and my father who was left behind might deviate slightly from the purpose of the contest, so I chose 'monsters,' which I loved as a child, as the theme.
I will use this as encouragement to keep writing something.

I have a vegetable I'm obsessed with.
The story of a man who fell in love with Brussels sprouts. Kazuya Fukumoto discovered their deliciousness through Brussels sprout tempura he ate at a small restaurant. Although he forgot about them for a while, a TV program made him crave them desperately. His enthusiasm, aided by the scarcity due to low supply, was such that he searched through local supermarkets. His passionate feelings for Brussels sprouts really come through.
The judges also gave it high marks, saying, "It's great to be able to call a vegetable an 'oshi'," "The choice of words like 'supply is insufficient,' which is typical of 'oshi-katsu' (fan activities), is wonderful," "Personifying them as an idol is unique," and "The limited-time feel of only being able to encounter them at this time of year is also good."
My 60-year-old mother falls for Snow Man
A chronicle of how Momona, a fan of the male idol group "Snow Man," kept evangelizing Snow Man to her 60-year-old mother until she became obsessed. News about Snow Man in the morning, Snow Man YouTube videos at dinner, and finishing off with a live concert—this is an essay overflowing with a sense of realism, love for her favorite, and family love.
The judges also highly praised it, saying, "The feeling of 'obsession'—the way you want to push it on others and the way 'liking' something spreads—is interesting. The enthusiasm to want to recommend and convey it came through," "The point that a new connection is formed within the family through Snow Man fits the theme," and "The tempo and the sense of rushing through it are good."

Thank you very much for the many submissions to "Tell Us About Your Obsession."
As a company that delivers entertainment, we have been sharing the "likes" and thoughts of our employees, but this time, we were able to feel once again that "likes" and "obsessions" transcend genres, becoming a driving force in our daily lives and connecting people to people. They are things that quietly move our hearts in that way.
Even those who thought, "I don't have an obsession to talk about," surely have something that has made you who you are today if you look back.
It might be an anime you were obsessed with in the past, a favorite taste, a precious person by your side, or perhaps the kindness of someone whose name you don't even know. And if you are supported by each of those things, I think that is also a wonderful "obsession."
Whether you submitted an entry this time or not, I would be happy if you could continue to cherish the "obsession" you have within yourself.
