Please see here for a list of entries on note.
As a result of the selection process, the winners have been decided as follows.
Grand Prix (1 entry)
Home-cooked meals = love, but cutting corners = love, too.
The Grand Prix was awarded to Asaimito's piece, which re-examines the equation "cutting corners = bad" that she held within herself, sparked by a single remark from her mother-in-law: "Actually, you didn't have to be perfect." While on maternity leave, Asaimito reached her limit trying to keep up with homemade baby food and bento boxes for her husband. By taking the plunge and leaving it to Tsukulio, she created time for her family to go out on weekends. "Home-cooked meals = love" is true, but "buying time to spend together by cutting corners = love" is also true—her journey to find the perfect method for her family resonated with many. The judges highly praised the work, noting: "The presence of her mother-in-law is warm and charming; there is an originality that makes you wish someone like that was by your side," "She courageously writes without hiding the realistic experiences of parenting, such as the moments when she would get frustrated," and "The development of creating her own family equation serves as a catalyst for thought."
[Winner's Comment] Thank you very much for this wonderful award. I have been a mother for three years now, and the days are still chaotic. But precisely because of that, I have learned to rely on various things so that I can take the pressure off. In particular, Tsukulio makes it easy to pause the service, so the hurdle for ordering is low because I can just order when I'm busy, and it's delicious, so I'm very grateful. By writing this note with the time I've created, I feel like I can face my daughter with a smile again today.
Special Award (Tsukulio Award) (1 entry)
What I realized I wanted to cherish after letting go of the housework I least wanted to give up
This is an essay by Umino, who takes the plunge and lets go of "homemade cooking" to realize what she truly wanted to cherish. While raising a 0-year-old and trying to finish dinner in time for her husband's return, she faced her husband's words that he didn't want to eat food made with a "this is so hard" look on her face. From there, she realized that homemade cooking is just a means, and what is truly important is "sitting at the table with family and talking." Since incorporating Tsukulio, she has been able to properly savor time with her family. The judges also highly praised it, saying: "The expressions in the title and body are skillful, and she carefully digs deep into the process of the realization that only someone who loves cooking could write," "The fact that even within a family, views on the same housework differ provides a realization for the reader," and "The discovery that what she was trying to do was merely a means is excellent."
Looking back on the contest
Below is a comment from the Tsukulio/Antway note team.
Thank you very much for submitting so many wonderful articles. Every piece was filled with a warm heart thinking of someone amidst realistic struggles, making it truly difficult to choose. The articles submitted this time went beyond the framework of meal preparation and taught us about the many facets of housework—who it is for, and what kind of people are involved and how. In other words, we ourselves felt we gained a major realization that there are many diverse "ways of viewing" housework. Our service, "Tsukulio," is designed to turn daily "obligations" into "choices" and create an opportunity to change that "view" of housework a little. By changing your view just a little, housework can become a reliable "ally" that supports you and your family. We hope to continue being a reliable "ally" for everyone, along with delicious home-cooked meals.
