This year, 2025, marks a milestone as it is the 80th anniversary of the end of the war in Japan. Why not post your war experiences or thoughts on peace that you have heard from family or loved ones on note?
Please feel free to post anything, such as casual conversations with family, images of photos or diaries from that time, or uploaded PDF data. Let's preserve important memories and records and pass them on to the future.
This project is being held with the support of note for the post-war 80th anniversary project "#ConnectMemories", which is jointly promoted by TBS NEWS DIG Powered by JNN and Yahoo! News.

■ Theme and Format
We are calling for posts on note tagged with "#ConnectMemories" that share war experiences heard from family or loved ones, thoughts on peace, or introductions to records and materials related to the war.
Please feel free to write in any format, such as manga, essays, illustrations, or novels. The format does not matter.
■ For your reference when posting
Many valuable records related to the war have already been posted on note.
・ TBS Television announcer Ai Eto posts about her grandfather's war experiences and thoughts on peace
・ Writers, mainly from generations who do not know the war or the reversion of Okinawa to Japan, share personal experiences related to Okinawa
・ Introducing student soldiers who died after being mobilized for the war, one by one, by citing letters and diaries
・ Introducing the memoirs of a grandfather who experienced internment in Siberia
・ Introducing stories of the war and family heard from a father born in 1937, including photos from that time
・ Releasing videos and audio recordings of visits to cenotaphs related to the Hiroshima atomic bombing and lectures
・ Introducing wartime memories heard from relatives and acquaintances through manga
・ Publishing the Nagasaki edition of the monthly newspaper "Hidankyo," which conveys the realities and activities of atomic bomb survivors

I feel that the fact that there are fewer people who have experienced war is related to the current situation where wars are occurring in various places. I believe it is important to listen to the stories of those who experienced it once more, and for the generations of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to pass them on. By having note join "#ConnectMemories," I hope that people of a wider range of generations will feel the war of 80 years ago and think that it must never be repeated.
My grandfather, who passed away last year, lost his mother and younger brother in the Yokohama Air Raid that occurred in the year the war ended. He was 14 years old at the time. I remember suddenly feeling that the war was close to me when I heard that story for the first time.
Eighty years after the war, opportunities to hear stories from those who experienced it are becoming scarce. With the "#ConnectMemories" project, we want to create an opportunity to connect family memories from parents to children, and from grandparents to grandchildren. Crossing the boundaries between television and the internet, we will preserve the memories of the war for future generations with your help.
