“For Someone Else” Might Just Be a Pretty Phrase

I am acting for someone else.

While saying that,
aren't I actually hoping for a little something in return?

I want to be thanked.
I want to be trusted.
I want to be supported.

Even while saying I don't need a reward,
somewhere in my heart, I am seeking “something in return.”I was like that, too.

I secretly checked my phone at work.

I was on the job.

I couldn't help but be curious,
so I checked the phone in my pocket.

The crowdfunding campaign I was supporting.

The moment I opened the page,
the word “Achieved”leaped into my eyes.

My breath hitched.

My eyes grew hot.

While looking down so no one around me would notice,
I clenched my fist tightly.

I was happy.

From the bottom of my heart.

In that moment, I realized.

I imagined that person looking happy.

When I pictured that expression,
the one who was most fulfilled

was me.

Ah, I see.

While saying “for someone else,”I wanted to see that person's smile

so that I could be happy.But I thought that was okay.



Becoming happy through someone else's happiness. That isn't calculation.

That is a cycle.

There is a reason why people get supported.

You can't just ask people to support you
without caring for them yourself.

People who are supported
are the ones who support others first.

Without calculating the return,
they genuinely wish for the other person's future.

It doesn't have an immediate effect.

But it doesn't disappear.

Actions taken for someone else
will eventually come back around.

That day's achievement notification
was proof of that.

The choice to be happy together.

Acting for someone else
is not a detour from your own happiness.

Rather, it is the most certain path.

If you want to be supported,
first, be someone who can support others.

It would be nice to be a part of someone's happiness.

That will circulate
and light up someone else again.

Let's be happy together.

That is
the strongest way to live.
