Episode 77 I am the standard.
As an ASD individual who spends a lot of time alone, that does not mean I can live entirely on my own.
I have family and relatives, and at work, I have a boss and colleagues.
I cannot live completely alone, nor have I ever thought of doing so.
Since I only see the world through my own filter, I cannot be certain, but I suspect I have a nature that thinks more in terms of visible things than ordinary people do.
I am always preparing several "rulers" tofind coordinates on a number line. You might feel that this way of thinking is inorganic, with too little room for emotion to enter.
For example, a conversation during lunch break at work...
I work at a company where we can order catered bento boxes, so I basically eat those.
The side dishes for the bento are decided daily, and I cannot choose the menu.
Everyone who orders a bento eats the same menu and the same amount.
This makes the difference in eating speed very easy to see.
I place myself at the reference point and watch the eating speed of my boss and colleagues.
That person is a little faster than me... if it's -1 minute, then it's just under 10 minutes...
This person is quite slow... if it's +4 minutes, then it's taking them about 15 minutes... and so on.
As for me, I usually finish eating in 10 minutes, brush my teeth, and take a nap until the afternoon shift starts.
Besides that, there's how fast someone walks, how fast someone types on a computer, and so on.
I compare everything imaginable to form the nature of that individual.
And at the center of those coordinate axes, I am always there.
The object of comparison is always me... even when comparing that person and this person, as long as I am the reference point, in a sense, it is a comparison that includes me.
My timetable lifemight be a way of maintaining a physical sense of distance from others after comparing myself with them in this way.
In society, we are required to live in connection with others.
That is why I think people say things like "communicate to improve the atmosphere."
But I don't think that close communication is the only way to improve relationships.
I live by measuring my distance from society using a worldview based on a number line where I am the standard.
That is the wisdom I use toon-board with society.wisdom.
