Staying at Reisenji Onsen Izumiya Ryokan (Reisenji ♨️)

I recently stayed at Reisenji ♨️.
This is my first visit to Izumiya Ryokan since February of this year.
The dinner menu has featured matsutake mushrooms since the September long weekend, and just like last year, I visited specifically for the matsutake.
That's right! At Izumiya Ryokan, you can enjoy a matsutake mushroom course at a super reasonable price.

It might just be my imagination, but the moment I entered the lobby, I smelled matsutake mushrooms.
Also, compared to February, the position of the Daruma doll had changed.

There are 6 guest rooms, located in a separate building reached by a connecting corridor from the lobby building (the main building?).
My room this time was the corner room on the first floor, just like last time.
The washroom and toilet have been renovated, giving them a hotel-like atmosphere.

And now... the long-awaited login bonus!

After a bit of beer, I headed straight to the ♨️.
First, I started with my favorite private bath.
This unique shape, which looks like a quadrifoglio minus one (in short, a regular clover), is fantastic, and the water quality is also top-tier.
Simply put, it is lukewarm water with just a tiny bit of carbonation and a mineral scent.
I could spend hours here with my iPhone in hand, but I try to keep it short for the sake of other guests.

Next, I'll go to the large public bath.
First is the indoor bath, which is a mixture of two different spring sources.
Lukewarm water, the same as in the private bath, is poured into the outer section, while hot water is poured into the inner section.
As for the difference between the lukewarm and hot water, I don't feel there is much difference other than the temperature, but I will omit the scientific details.
By the way, since I love lukewarm water, I personally hardly ever use the hot bath.

Next is the open-air bath.
It has the same water quality as the private bath and is lukewarm.
You can zone out while looking at the beautiful scenery outside.
Compared to the private bath, you can stretch your legs out fully, making it a superb open-air lukewarm bath.
By the way, it's perfectly fine even in winter.

Dinner time.
Matsutake mushrooms.

Here are the main items other than the matsutake mushrooms.

By the way, their sake stock is also superb.
I'm going to get drunk.

Breakfast.
Since the dinner portion is so large, I have the sukiyaki at breakfast time.
Of course, it contains matsutake mushrooms, but the flavor of the meat is even more impactful than the mushrooms.

A default large serving of "delicious" matsutake rice also appears.
At checkout, I was also given a matsutake rice ball!
By the way, last year it was served during dinner.

There is also a regular breakfast menu.

This is the final bath ♨️.

Finally, I will post my favorite item at Izumiya Ryokan.
I suppose you could call it a preference similar to the Rolling Stones' "It's Only Rock 'n Roll (But I Like It)."

I like this kind of thing too.

I will come again.
Note: They will be renovating the lobby area until spring.
Next year, I am aiming for the time of the Alfa Romeo event held at Lake Megami!
