Even an AI beginner can do it! The joy of making music with Musicful [#PlayWithAI]

Hello, this is Mikiko Tsubaki🌸 Seasonal Flower Calendar.

I am an AI beginner, but it has been over 10 days since I started making music with Musicful now.
Since the number of songs I've made has increased, I'd like to take a moment to look back at what I've created.

My first music generation

When I wrote my last article, I had stopped at just pasting an MP3.

What I made at that time was a very short Yunomi Song.
Since this was my first AI music generation in my life, I'll post it here.

By covering and arranging this song, I was able to create a longer Yunomi (Cover Version).

The rushed, uptempo song became a slow version, and "Yunomi" started to sound like you know me.

If we assume the lyrics are "Even though you know me", the highlight is where the hidden meaning of "I don't know you" emerges.

When interpreted that way, the violin-like music in the second half also starts to sound like longing for someone out of reach. What do you think?

How I use Musicful

I don't have the aptitude to generate music exactly as I imagine it.
So, I've given up on trying to think up and create songs myself, and instead, I'm trying to write articles with a feeling that matches the music.

Also, I've started generating songs after creating prompts based on the articles I've written.

It's probably unconventional, but I'm enjoying the world of generative AI where you never know what will come out.

With this mindset, I've been generating songs one after another to match my articles.
This is because I want to use music to help people enjoy reading my articles.

Generating BGM for travel articles

I wrote an article about a trip I took with my mother and sister, the three of us.
This article has parts ① through ④. I'll just post ① here.

Since there are many photos, I wanted music that matched the image of the hotel, so I generated it with Musicful. I wanted people to listen to it while reading the article, so it's BGM without lyrics.

① An urban hotel in the mountains

This song expresses the feeling of an urban hotel suddenly appearing from within the mountains.
I created it in V1.0 mode, so it has a slightly heavy image. But since I still have memories of the Showa era, this slower pace feels comforting to me.

② Luxury hot spring introduction

It's music that has a Japanese style but also an urban image. It was nostalgic BGM that sounded a bit like old-fashioned popular songs. This was also created in V1.0.

③ Dinner Introduction

This was created with V3.0, so is the sound a bit more refined? Or is it just my imagination? I feel like the higher the number goes from V1.0, the more detailed the rhythm becomes. It feels more dynamic, perhaps.

④ Breakfast Introduction

This is also V3.0, so it has a crisp rhythm. Music generation might be a mechanism that allows you to call up songs that sound like something you've heard somewhere, tailored to your image.

I used to think that having music when reading an article would broaden the imagery.
That's why I've borrowed and posted other people's songs in my articles until now.

For example, for this article, I used someone else's YouTube video. Back then, I thought it was impossible for me to prepare music myself.

But this time, I was able to create BGM that fits my article with Musicful, so I thought it was very convenient.
I've started wanting to add music to every article.

Generated music for support

For the next article, I tried making support music to participate in Kawamura-san's project.

The original title of "I want to support Kawamura-san" is "Morning Spark".
Since I couldn't understand the meaning of the English lyrics just by listening, I had Gemini translate them for me.

When I said I wanted a song that would cheer people up, it turned the morning scene into lyrics. The lyrics were created in English by Gemini after it read my article.

The theme is "Morning Spark," or "morning glimmer."
It's a slightly relaxed melody from V1.0, so I think it's easy to listen to.

If you listen while looking at the lyrics, it might even be good English practice.
It's long, but I'll leave the full text here.

Lyrics start here

"Morning Spark" Japanese Translation

[Stanza 1: Starting the morning]

Open the curtains wide Open the curtains wide
Boot on the floor Put your boots on the floor
Shoes by the door Line up your shoes by the door
Like they're ready for more As if they're ready for more wonderful things to begin

Cold water on my face Wash my face with cold water
Then I'm out the gate Then I jump out the gate
Your voice in my ear says I hear your voice in the back of my ears
"You're gonna be great" Saying, "You'll be great, you'll do fine"

[Pre-chorus: Let's take it easy]

Hey, hey Hey, listen
Take it one step at a time Let's take it one step at a time
Hey, hey Hey, look
Feel that little spark alive Feel the little spark of the heart coming to life My chest goes like My chest is pounding with excitement
The whole day feels right I feel like everything will go well today

[Chorus: Morning glimmer]

Morning Spark, Morning Spark Morning Spark, morning glimmer
You can light up the dark You can light up the dark
Morning Spark, Morning Spark Morning Spark, morning glimmer
We can start right where we are We can start right from where we are Hands up high, breathe it in Hands up high, take a deep breath Today begins, let's dive in Today begins, let's dive in!
Morning Spark, Morning Spark Morning Spark, morning glimmer
You can light up the dark You light up the dark

[Verse 2: Little everyday joys]

First off, smile I wave First, I wave with a smile
To the kid next door at the kid next door
Fresh bread in a bag fresh bread in a bag
From the shop on the corner that I bought at that shop on the corner

Rain on my sleeve Even if rain hits my sleeve
But I don't mind one bit I don't mind it one bit
Every tiny thing feels like because every tiny thing feels like
A lucky hit a lucky event

[Pre-chorus: Light steps]

Hey, hey Hey, listen
Hear the song in my step listen to the melody in my steps
Hey, hey yeah, it's okay
Nothing's too hard, yeah there's nothing too hard
You look my way if you turn to look at me
And the clouds drift away even the gloomy clouds will drift away

[Chorus]

(*Repeat) Morning Spark, Morning Spark / You can light up the dark... Morning Spark, morning sparkle / You can light up the dark...

[Bridge: Because you're not alone]

If the road gets steep Even if the road ahead gets steep
We'll climb it slow we can just climb it slowly together
If your heart feels small if your heart feels small (anxious)
I'll let you know I'll tell you again and again
You're not alone that you're not alone
Not today, not ever not today, not ever
Small bright hearts if we have small, bright hearts
Make a big world better we can make this big world a better place

[Chorus]

(*Repeat) Morning Spark, Morning Spark / You can light up the dark... Morning Spark, morning sparkle / You can light up the dark...

That's all for the lyrics

It's scary how an AI can keep churning out such catchy phrases.
Of course, it's probably selecting from existing songs, but it's strange how it sounds like a new song because the combinations change.

I've grown attached to it after listening to it a few times.
The phrase "You can light up the dark you can light up the dark" is very encouraging.

Apparently, I can also cover it with my own voice.
That sounds interesting.

Music to go with a photo essay

I have many articles introducing photos of my garden, so I tried generating music to match them.
Here is the article.

I wanted to create background music that would fit a peaceful landscape, and this is the song that came out.
It has a flowing, expansive melody, and I think it matches the content of the article.

Since I made it with V2.0, I personally thought it had a good balance of simplicity and sophistication.
After all, at my age, I can't keep up with fast, modern-style songs. My hearing isn't that great either.

Music to go with a picture book introduction

At this time, I created a slightly lonely-sounding song, so I used it for a gentle picture book introduction. Since the image was like a journey into one's inner self, the article was also drawn into those memories.

I keenly felt that the direction of an article changes depending on the song.
I don't know if that's good or bad, but I felt that music has the power to move emotions.

Things I realized after using Musicful

If I can learn to utilize the power of music in my note articles, I think the possibilities for readers to enjoy them will expand.

I have only generated about 10 songs in total so far, but I have come to understand that I can create a variety of music.
I would like to practice while listening to other people's work.

If you have a Google account, you can create a Musicful account right away.
You get credits every day just by logging in, so you can experience music generation for free at first.

Please give it a try if you'd like.

I'm looking forward to your likes and comments 💛
