The real reason your note isn't growing might be 'single-point focus'
Hello, I'm Eight✌️☺️
"If I just change the thumbnail"
"If I just fix the icon"
Have you ever thought that
if you just fix one place, it will grow
?
I used to think that way too.
But after actually continuing to post for many years,
I realized something.
That is,
focusing too much on just one place is,
conversely, the cause of your growth stagnation
😓
The trap of single-point focus
The more you are struggling to grow,
the more you want to look for
the answer in one single place.
Try changing the thumbnail
Try making a new icon
Try reviewing the article structure
None of these are wrong.
However,
even if you repeatedly fix just one of them,
the results won't follow as much as you'd expect.
Generally,
it is said that "if you fix the weak points, the whole thing will improve,"
but in reality, that is not the case.
What is important is
not the perfection of one single point, but the connection of the whole
.
Connect the dots to make a line
For example,
suppose you change your icon to have a gentler feel.
But,
what if your thumbnail remains stiff?
What if the tone of your writing also remains blunt?
Surely,
you will give the reader
an impression that is somehow inconsistent.
Instead of being satisfied with just changing the icon,
create a thumbnail that matches the atmosphere of that icon, and write text that matches the vibe of that thumbnail
.
This consistent flow is what creates
the persuasiveness of your entire account.
I myself
did not arrive at my current style by
creating a special strategy.
I was never good at sharp, edgy messaging to begin with,
so I just naturally gravitated toward a gentler approach.😌
But looking back now,
each of those small choices
connected before I knew it
to form the overall atmosphere.
The more you stagnate, the narrower your perspective becomes
Content creation has its ups and downs.
Things were going well last month,
but this month the engagement has suddenly dropped off.
That happens to everyone.
And the tricky part is that
the worse things are going,
the easier it is for your perspective to narrow
.😰
You start wanting to jump
at one specific thing, thinking, "If I just change the thumbnail"
or "If the content of the text were just better."
I imagine many of you
have had the experience of
freezing up in front of the screen
while staring at the results.
But what you really need
is not to jump at one single point, but
the habit of stopping once to look at the big picture.
Instead of rushing to find an answer,
taking a little distance
is actually the shortest path.
Tools should also be whatever suits you at the time.
Up until now, I have
changed the AI I use for writing
several times.
At first it was Copilot,
then ChatGPT,
Gemini,
and now it is Claude.
There was no special reason,
it just felt comfortable
for me at that time,
that is all.
This is not limited to AI,
and I think the same logic applies to
why I have changed my icons and thumbnails.
Instead of deciding on a final form from the start,
I keep choosing what feels right at the time.
By doing so,
a natural consistency
might emerge as a result😌
Don't worry too much about things you can't control.
Honestly,
there are still waves in engagement,
and in terms of meeting new readers,
I sometimes feel the influence
of the algorithm quite strongly.
Even after researching countermeasures,
I've come to realize that
there are many parts that
cannot be helped by my own efforts alone.
That is precisely why
rather than worrying about things I cannot control, I choose to
steadily stack up what I can do right now instead.
If I could grow all at once like an influencer, I wouldn't have any trouble,
but reality isn't that sweet.
Even so,
I feel that as long as I have the habit of keeping a broad perspective
and looking at my account objectively,
I can move forward without rushing.

Summary
Finally,
I will summarize the important points.
Even if you fix just one spot,
it is difficult for the account as a whole to grow-
What is important is
a 'total design' where the icon, thumbnails, and text all connect as one
Your perspective is more likely to narrow during a stagnation period, so
dare to stop for a momentFor tools and styles,
you should choose what suits you at that timeRather than worrying about things you cannot control,
steadily continue what you can do now
There is no need to rush to find an answer.
Don't rush,
I hope you can
take a slow look at your entire account ☺️
