Don't ignore that stickiness. Do you have days when sweat irritates your skin?
"It feels sticky, yet somehow dry..."
"Suddenly, I'm getting redness and itching..."
Since the end of Golden Week,
we've been hearing more comments like that🌿
Recently, even on TV,
"Cleansing is important even on days you don't wear makeup"
was featured as a topic📺
Actually, this
is deeply related to the "unstable skin" of this season😌
Today's Skin Log ☁️
2026.5.15
🌡️💧Temperatures and humidity are gradually rising,
and there are more days where we break a sweat.
☀️UV rays are also getting stronger,
leading into a season where sebum and sweat easily oxidize.
During this time,
the triple irritation of "sweat, sebum, and UV rays"
makes skin prone to instability🌿
💆♀️Real Talk Today (Concerns from salon clients)
What we see a lot of at the salon lately is...
☑️ Redness
☑️ Itching
☑️ Small bumps
☑️ Roughness
☑️ Clogged pores
☑️ Adult acne
While it may look like a "sebum problem" at first glance,
it is actually often related to "leaving sweat on the skin" or
sebum residue that hasn't been fully washed away😌
🧠The Cause
When your skin is sweating,
it is actually in a softened, water-logged state.
The stratum corneum loosens,
and the skin's barrier function becomes prone to decline.
Furthermore, if you leave sweat on your skin,
・Salt
・Ammonia
・Sebum residue
can act as irritants,
causing redness and itching💦
And because sweat and sebum mix,
it easily turns into "oxidized sebum" inside the pores,
✔️ Clogged pores
✔️ Dullness
✔️ Roughness
can also lead to these issues.
⚠️ Foam face wash alone
may not be enough to remove oily dirt deep in the pores.
That is why during this season, especially,
“morning cleansing” is very important🫧

Sebum produced while sleeping, and
oil from the previous night's skincare.
By gently removing them with morning cleansing,
✔ Clear pores
✔ Better makeup application
✔ Prevention of skin roughness
can also be achieved🫧
🧴 Are you applying too much toner?
During this season,
“I feel dry, so I apply a large amount of toner”
the number of people doing this is increasing.
However, if the skin
is flooded with too much moisture at once,
the stratum corneum can become overly swollen.
Then...
✔ The barrier function weakens
✔ Irritating ingredients can penetrate more easily
✔ Leads to redness and stinging
This can sometimes happen🥺
Furthermore, actually...
✔ There is a limit to the amount of moisture the skin can hold
✔ Applying too much can easily make the stratum corneum soggy
✔ It can even strip away the skin's own moisture as it evaporates
✔ Excessive friction from layering can also cause irritation
Therefore, what is important is,
not that “more equals correct”
💡 “Gently applying the necessary amount of moisture and protecting it properly”🫧

🌱 NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor) is an essential element that keeps your skin hydrated
NMF is
the essential "key to hydration" that holds onto
your skin's moisture🔑
Skin that has become soft from sweat
can easily have its ability to protect that moisture
disrupted.
・Leaving sweat on the skin
・Over-washing
・UV rays
・Friction
When these irritants pile up,
"It feels sticky, yet it's dry."
It can easily lead to that kind of "inner dryness" too.😢
🕊️What to do on days like this?
・Gently pat away sweat instead of rubbing
・Don't stop at just using a mist
・Wash it off as soon as possible after getting home
・Reset overnight sweat and sebum with morning cleansing
・Don't apply too much toner
・Replenish moisture and oil in a balanced way
For cleansing,
"gently blending types" like oils or balms
are also recommended.🌿
☘️Sakurako's Point
On days when you sweat, you might only be concerned about sebum, but
"whether you are protecting your skin's moisture"
is also very important.🌿
In fact, "moisturizing" is important
during sticky seasons.
However,
rather than "over-moisturizing,"
"gently adjusting to the amount your skin can receive"
is what's important.😌
On days when your skin is feeling unstable,
please prioritize protective care
over aggressive care.☘️
💡Today's Charge
During this time of year when sweat and sebum easily remain.

Let's gently reset
the sweat and sebum from while you were sleeping
with morning cleansing.🌿
After that,
it is important to "gently blend in the necessary amount"
rather than applying "plenty" of toner.☺️
Finally, seal it with cream,
to protect the moisture🫧
A quick word 💐
"My skin has been feeling unstable lately..."
At times like that,
it might be a double fluctuation of
sweat, dryness, and "leftover residue"😌🌿
It's not just sweat and sebum,
it might be a sign that your
"overworked skin" is a little tired😌
During this season,
both cleansing and moisturizing
should be "gently balanced" just right🫧🌿
May your skin feel
at least a little comfortable today too🫧🌿
Thank you for reading until the end😊
If you have any concerns about your skin,
please feel free to comment☺️
I would be happy if we could balance it together🌿
