【Magical Eco-Tea Recipes to Soothe Your Stomach】/Don't Throw Them Away! Vegetable 'Scraps' Are Treasures/Creative Awards 2026/Food Category
Good morning✨ It's Nonno.
'My stomach feels heavy and sluggish after eating no matter what'
'My stomach feels bloated and uncomfortable, and I have no appetite.' Have you ever felt these minor yet serious gastrointestinal issues? In fact, your stomach's SOS signals can appear in unexpected places.
Is that discomfort actually from your stomach? Surprising 'SOS' signs
🌿Signs of digestion: Acid reflux, alternating constipation and diarrhea, increased gas
🌿Systemic signs: Chronic fatigue, difficulty waking up refreshed, headaches or dizziness
🌿Beauty signs: Acne/breakouts around the mouth, dullness, rough skin, bad breath, dryness, flakiness, edema, brittle hair
Whether for a healthy lifestyle or dieting, 'regulating your stomach' is the foundation of everything.
When your stomach is in poor condition, you may feel sluggish all day, or be unable to sleep at night, leading to increased irritability. Even if you start a diet, if your digestive and absorption powers are weakened, it's hard to get the results you want. Conversely, boosting your stomach's function is directly linked to detoxifying waste products and improving metabolism.
So, this time, I will introduce 'magical eco-tea recipes' born from your kitchen.
'Cabbage cores left over from cooking, bell pepper seeds, mandarin orange or apple peels'—actually, they are the best ingredients, hiding the power to regulate your stomach, so it's a waste to throw them away!
🌿 Why are 'scraps' good for the stomach?
In the world of Kampo and medicinal cooking, it is believed that 'life force' resides in the skins and seeds of plants.
Cabbage core: Rich in Vitamin U (Cabegin) which protects the stomach lining
Bell pepper seeds and pith: Packed with 'pyrazine' which promotes blood flow
By boiling these, they are reborn as 'nourishing tea' that clears away stomach heaviness and warms you from the inside out.
Packed with the wisdom of medicinal cooking, Ayurveda, and medical herbs, this tea is completely caffeine-free. You can drink it with peace of mind even before going to bed at night. Once you take a sip, you should be able to feel your stomach gently rejoicing.
How to make eco-tea
Blend vegetable or fruit peels with spices (whole), dried fruits, and a base tea. I have chosen spices and teas that are easy to find at supermarkets.
1. Wash: Wash the vegetable cores and peels thoroughly. (If you are concerned about pesticides, it is safe to soak them in lukewarm water with baking soda dissolved in it for about 5 minutes before washing.)
2. Cut/Dry: Wipe off the moisture, cut into small pieces, spread them on a colander or similar, and sun-dry for 1 to 2 days. (If using an oven, 100-120 degrees for 30-60 minutes; if using a microwave, you can repeat heating and mixing until they are completely dried out.)
3. Store: Once completely dry, store them in a clean jar or zip bag with a desiccant.
4. Boil: Put your favorite ingredients in a pot, add water, and simmer gently over low heat for about 5-10 minutes, and it's done!
When using a teapot: freshly boiled water and pour it in, then be sure to cover it and let it steep for 5 minutes
Guideline: For 300-500ml of water, use 1 pack of base tea, appropriate spices/herbs, and about a pinch or two of dried ingredients.)
