A Fluid Sucker Punch from a Prostrate Position (Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan)
The next show I watched after Denshi Sentai Denjiman was Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan.
The main cast was reduced from five to three—a downsizing—and on top of that, the leader changed halfway through. It was also the only Super Sentai series—at least among those that reset their settings every year—to share a world with its predecessor. For the third entry in the Super Sentai series by the standards of the time, I felt it had quite an aggressive personality.
Sun Vulcan also had many impactful scenes, and despite my age when I watched it, I remember various things... but I realized that the scene that comes to mind first when I think of "Are you serious?!" is currently being streamed and will soon be released on the internet.
Since I'm a bad kid, I wanted to dabble in forbidden spoilers for once, so I decided to prioritize reviving this topic from my stock box.
Well, even though I call it a spoiler, it's been over 40 years since the first broadcast, so please forgive me. Oh, and if this is your first time watching, I'm sorry, but please hit the back button on your browser (ノД`)/~~~
<Reading the room time over, resuming!>
The scene is the headquarters of the archenemy, the Machine Empire Black Magma, and a miraculous, shocking scene was created in a hair-trigger situation right in front of the enemy leader.
Commander Arashiyama (played by Shin Kishida), looking sharp in his sunglasses, confronts the enemy leader (voiced by Hidekatsu Shibata) with Sun Vulcan in tow. However, his daughter Misa is once againtaken hostage, and he cannot make a move.
<By the way, the leader is the same person who played the evil Emperor Dread!>
The leader laughs triumphantly and makes a demand of Commander Arashiyama. What words would an evil emperor say to the commander of a justice-seeking squadron... A toddler (at the time) held their breath and was glued to the television.
"Prostrate yourself."
(゚д゚) Huh?
"I said, prostrate yourself."
(゚д゚) Huh??
The demand was unexpectedly "Get down on your knees and apologize." What a monster complainer, ready for customer harassment!
Perhaps because the toddler was raised surrounded by adults, they were quite precocious and understood the act of prostration and all its implications with much higher resolution than other children their age. That is exactly why they were making a face like (゚д゚) in front of the TV.
Chief Arashiyama kneels, covered in humiliation. The music also plays with a tension that fits the situation.
Setting aside the bizarre demand of the evil mastermind, thanks to the gripping performance of the great actor Shin Kishida, an intensity that transcends children's programming bursts from the screen.

(Why did I choose this photo!?)
However, as expected of the Chief. Even as he slowly lowers his body with an expression of being cornered, he has already analyzed the situation. Yes, the captured daughter is a fake.
The evil mastermind, triumphant at the sight of Chief Arashiyama gradually bowing his head, lets his guard down... Now is the time!
"Vulcan Stick! (●∀●)/"
To everyone's surprise, Chief Arashiyama snatched the Vulcan Stick (weapon) from the Vulcan Eagle standing nearby and fired its beam directly into the top of the evil mastermind's head.
悪の親玉「おわぁああああぁ(TдT)」Damn, Shin Kishida is so cool!!
He took all the best parts!

From there, it was a foregone conclusion as he rescued the real Misa and escaped the exploding enemy base by the skin of his teeth.
I still have vivid childhood retorts of Sun Vulcan, including other elements of the final episode, so I would like to talk about it again.
This time there are more retorts than usual, but next time I would like to touch on the charm that overflows from the work while reducing the retorts.
So you ARE going to retort?
Looking back, General Tetsuzan (played by Chiyonosuke Azuma) of Battle Fever J also did whatever he wanted, cutting down executives and monsters with a Japanese sword, but this time Commander Arashiyama is finishing off the enemy leader, pushing aside the Sentai heroes (lol).
Moreover, the cause of the evil side's defeat was their carelessness from gloating... By the way, this leader has a very grand title of Almighty God, but what he demanded was an apology via dogeza using hostages as a shield.
Just like now that I am older than the late Shin Kishida, even as a child, my impression was "What a petty guy (;´Д`)".
The toddler who saw that shocking scene with their own eyes thought: thinking of tokusatsu like this Sun Vulcan, other dramas, anime, and the figures of real adults, it is unlikely that dogeza will ever intersect with my life. That is how rare a situation dogeza is in reality, let alone in fiction.
......As I concluded that, I had absolutely no idea at the time that decades later I would be exposed to Dogeza Harassment (Doge-hara), such as being forced to perform a dogeza or having one forced upon me (゚д゚).
Unfortunately, I did not have a Vulcan Stick by my side, so fighting these inferior versions of Almighty Gods with my bare hands is another story.
Ahhh, I want to shout "Vulcan Stick!" and scatter the outlaws too! (TдT)
I sense darkness in the part about how you thought you would "unlikely" be involved in dogeza during your childhood (゚∀゚) SURPRISED BY BEING DONE IN, A BOX OF TREASURES

<Subculture Zanmai>
I am talking loosely, focusing on subculture-like things (゚∀゚)
