【AI Illustration Concepts | Practice】Trying to Draw Up Close | Macro Lens

I tried drawing with a macro lens.
I fixed the subject as a "dog's nose" and placed two images side-by-side: one macro and one at a normal distance.

🎨 Image 1: Extremely close up

I started by trying the macro lens.

My intention was to "bring the texture and details of the dog's nose to the forefront." I wanted to draw it from a distance where you could see the pores and the moisture.

Intent note: The nose occupies most of the screen. Bring out the texture of the details.

The result was an image where the nose occupies the center of the screen, and the pores and moisture are clearly visible.

It was more of a "picture of a nose" than a "picture of a dog." When I first saw it, I wondered for a few seconds, "What is this a picture of?" The moment I realized what it was, it suddenly felt like a dog, which I found interesting.

When I showed it to a friend, they said it was "creepy." I think that might actually be a compliment in a roundabout way.

🎨 Image 2: From a normal distance

I drew the same subject from a normal distance.

I didn't change my intention. It's the same dog. I only changed the distance.

Intent note: View the dog from the front at a distance where the entire face is visible.

1:1 aspect ratio, close-up shot, dog face, natural perspective, eye level, soft lighting

The result was an image where the entire dog's face is visible.

The eyes, ears, nose, and mouth are all visible. It is easy to understand as a "picture of a dog." The nose is visible, but it is not the main subject like it was in Image 1.

🎨 Comparing the two images

When you place the two images side-by-side, you can see that even though the same "dog's nose" is the main subject, the nature of the images is completely different.

The nose in Image 1 is a picture of texture.
The nose in Image 2 is a part of a face.

I stared at the nose in image 1 for a while. The more I look at it, the more mysterious its shape seems.
Oh well, never mind.
