My first recipe book'Inspiration Recipes for Days When You Don't Want to Do Anything' (published by Fusosha) is now on sale. Please check it out on Amazon, Rakuten Books, or at your local bookstore.
Hello, I'm Frao, a former salaryman turned cook ^^
Suddenly, don't you have times like this?
"I bought mushrooms in bulk because they were cheap"buying in bulk"
"I want to know if there's a good way to use them up"
For those people, I'd like to introduce an exquisite recipe that you should try at least once: "Garlic Butter Mushrooms", or "Garibata Mushrooms" for short!
Microwave cooking makes this an easy recipe that even people who don't usually cook can easily make ^^
Ingredients (for 2-3 people)

King trumpet mushrooms ... 1 pack
Shimeji mushrooms ... 1/2 bunch
Potato starch ... 1 tablespoon
Soy sauce ... 1 tablespoon
Garlic…1 clove (3cm if using a tube)
Butter…20g (salted or unsalted is fine)
If you prepare a total of about 250–300g of mushrooms, it will turn out just right. You can also
deliciously make this with other mushrooms like shiitake or maitake as well^^
How to make

Remove the stems from the mushrooms and cut them into bite-sized pieces.
If you are someone who struggles with removing the shimeji stems, please check out this article (sorry, it's an external site). It might reduce your stress.
Also, for king oyster mushrooms, cut them in half lengthwise and then...

cut them into quarters lengthwise, and then cut those in half (refer to the image above) to get the perfect size.

Transfer the mushrooms to a plastic bag, add potato starch (1 tablespoon), and...

air inside, hold the opening of the bag with your hand, and shake it. This process ensures the
potato starch is evenly coated over all the mushrooms.

Transfer the mushrooms to a microwave-safe container, add butter (20g) and grated garlic (1 clove, or 3cm from a tube) spread out in the container, then drizzle with soy sauce (1 tablespoon).

Cover loosely with plastic wrap and heat in the microwave at 600W for 5 minutes...

'Garlic Butter Mushrooms' are ready! Thanks to the potato starch, it has a nice
'thickness', making it a dish with a delightful mouthfeel.
For the finishing touch, it's also delicious topped with garlic chips, dried parsley, or dried onions ^^

No fire required, so it's easy to make and a perfect recipe for using up mushrooms. When you find king trumpet mushrooms, shimeji, or shiitake at a good price, please
give it a try ^^
