My first recipe book “Inspiration Recipes for Days When You Don't Want to Do Anything” (published by Fusosha) is now on sale. Amazon and Rakuten Books, please check it out at your local bookstore.
Hello, I'm cooking expert Flao^^
Although eggplant is strongly associated with summer vegetables, the eggplants that appear in early autumn from September to October (autumn eggplant) are also juicy and delicious.
So this time, I'll introduce a secret recipe that allows you to deliciously consume a large amount of eggplant. It's incredibly easy to make using a
microwave! It's a
time-saving recipe that you can make in 8 minutes once you get used to it. Please check it out^^
Ingredients (for 2-3 people)

Eggplant…3 pieces (about 300g)
Mentsuyu (noodle soup base)…3 tablespoons
Sesame oil…1 tablespoon
The simplicity of being able to make it with just 3 ingredients is the main selling point.
Also, in my home, I use 4x concentrated mentsuyu. I would appreciate it if you could fine-tune the seasoning based on the
concentration level of your own household's product and your preferred flavor intensity.
Instructions

Remove the stems from the eggplants, cut them in half lengthwise...

and then slice them into thin strips lengthwise.

Transfer to a heat-resistant container, add noodle soup base (3 tbsp), sesame oil (1 tbsp), and mix together.

Cover with plastic wrap and... (leaving a small
gap will prevent it from bursting.)

Heat in the microwave at 600W for 5 minutes.
(If you feel it isn't cooked through, please add 30 seconds to 1 minute of additional heating time.)
Take it out of the microwave (be careful, it's hot!), and once you mix it all together, it's already done.

It's also delicious topped with green onions or bonito flakes if you like.
Eating it piping hot right after making it is delicious, but...

After letting it cool down, refrigerating it for about 2 to 3 hours to chill allows the flavors to soak in thoroughly, and you can enjoy an even more "melt-in-your-mouth" texture.
Please enjoy it with your preferred level of flavor absorption ^^
Introducing variations (currently being updated)
I will add information I've tried myself or learned from followers about "such variations" that are also delicious as I go ^^
| Variation with chicken bouillon
Follow the same preparation method, but use "chicken bouillon powder (2 tsp)" instead of noodle soup base, and sprinkle with white sesame seeds at the end for a Chinese-style flavor!
| Variation with white dashi
Follow the same preparation method, and it's said to be delicious even if you use "white dashi (2 tbsp)" instead of noodle soup base! [From a follower]
| Variation with grated ginger
It is also recommended to add "grated ginger (1 piece, 3cm from a tube)" before heating! (Since the heating time is short, julienned ginger won't fully infuse its flavor into the eggplant, so grated ginger is better!)
| Arrange with Ichimi Togarashi (red chili pepper)
It is said that adding "green onions" and "Ichimi Togarashi" at the end is delicious! [From a follower]
| Arrange with grated daikon radish
It is said that topping it with "grated daikon radish" after heating is delicious! [From a follower]
| Arrange with sudachi citrus juice
It is said that topping it with "bonito flakes" and squeezing "sudachi" over it after heating is delicious! [From a follower]
| Arrange with deep-fried tofu (abura-age)
It is said that adding "abura-age" before heating is also recommended! [From a follower]
| Arrange with ground meat
It is said that adding "ground meat" before heating makes it delicious! [From a follower]
| Arrange with pasta sauce
It is said that replacing the mentsuyu and sesame oil with "retort meat sauce" and heating it is delicious! [From a follower]
| Arrange by topping something else
It is said that putting the recipe as made onto "grilled mochi" or "thick fried tofu (atsu-age)" is delicious! [From a follower]
| Arrange the number of eggplants
For 1 eggplant, it is said you can make it deliciously by heating at 600W for 2 minutes, mixing once, and then heating for an additional 1 minute! [From a follower]
| Arrange the concentration of mentsuyu
3x concentrated mentsuyu can be used at "4 tablespoons" to make it delicious! [From a follower]
| Arrange without using mentsuyu
I also received information that you can substitute mentsuyu by mixing soy sauce, mirin, and granulated dashi to suit your taste!
Besides this, if you have any recommended variations, I would be happy if you could let me know in the comments on note or Stand.fm, etc. ^^
