Using the comment-off feature gave me some peace of mind.
As I mentioned in a previous post,
I have been keeping comments turned off since last month.
This comment-off feature is only available
if you subscribe to Premium (500 yen/month).
*However, the first month is free.
Whether you sign up on the 1st or the 12th, it lasts until the end of the month, so it's definitely better to sign up on the 1st.
I signed up in the middle of the month, though...
What I realized after turning off comments is that
I can focus on my own work.
In the first place, the reason I paid money
to turn off comments was
to stop pushing myself too hard
and to conserve my energy.
Before I joined Premium,
I had comments fully open,
and I was happy to receive comments from everyone many times.
(To those who wrote comments, thank you so much 🥹)
Whether it was feedback on my articles
or sharing your own experiences,
the joy of interacting
became a source of confidence and smiles,
making me glad I wrote the articles.
Contrary to those happy feelings,
it is also true that I felt
"This is a bit tough..." and my heart was exhausted.
This doesn't mean that I have become
reluctant to receive comments.
As I mentioned above, it was because I was pushing myself too hard.
I was pushing myself into a corner.
Every time I replied to a comment I received,
I would worry, "How should I write this?"
every single time.
Would this sound cold if I wrote it this way?
Would it be misunderstood?
Would it be offensive?
Even though they left a kind comment, I was afraid that they would be disappointed by my reply,
or think it wasn't what they expected,
so I would write and delete it over and over.
I kept re-reading it repeatedly.
There were some comments that took me over 30 minutes
to reply to.
Even after spending that much time,
I would regret it after clicking send...
"What is this..."
I started to hate myself for not being able to reply quickly.
My time and energy for activities are limited,
but the energy consumption was intense,
so I decided to turn it off because I knew I couldn't go on like this.
That was the background behind it.
Of course, by turning off comments,
I was secretly terrified that people would think, "Who does this person think they are, being so uncooperative?"
Will my followers decrease?
Will the people who always come to read stop coming...
I had those worries, but
they still come to visit me just the same.
They send me a "like" as a sign that they were here.
(I was so happy 😭 Thank you so much 😭)
I am currently only using the comment feature, but
・Those who want to focus on their own time and
・Those who are troubled by people only posting advertisements in comments
・Those who receive comments from people with clearly different attributes, etc.
For those who
want to prioritize themselves right nowrather than interaction,
I thought this would be a very reassuring feature.
I feel anxious or scared that I might lose followers
or that connections with people I've interacted with might be severed...
but
I've always thought that
staying connected forever is basically impossible.
After all,
if either person leaves note,
the connection is severed at that point.
Besides, when personal life changes or
there are changes in mindset, the people you interact with
often change.
(I think this is especially common at the start of a new fiscal year.)
I, too, have had connections with people I've interacted with
severed many times before.
It was lonely, of course.
But I don't think it's right to persistently leave likes or
comments just because of that.
That would be rude to the other person
and could potentially cause them distress.
The fact that you no longer interact
always has a background reason behind it.
Is the reason my fault?
Or is it on the other person's side (such as a change in their environment)?
Only they know the answer to that.
So, even if we have been interacting until now,
if I take action and
there is no response,
I send them a cheer in my heart
and quietly say goodbye.
(It is very lonely, though.)
I have digressed a bit,
but there is a way to turn off this comment feature
without having to join a premium plan.
You just need to make it a paid article.
If you make it a paid article,
people cannot comment unless they purchase it.
Write an article
↓
Set it as a paid article below the final text.
(The line between free and paid, indicating 'this is a paid article from here on')
↓
Publish
By doing this,
the article can be read in its entirety, so it is no different from when it was free.
However,
for those who want to comment,
it becomes a situation where they cannot do so unless they purchase it.
I think this method
will be even easier to understand
if you read the article by Konnan Slide Revolving Seishin-san.
I think you will find yourself saying,
Oh, so that's how it is!
Lastly.
I am still struggling with managing my energy consumption and replenishment,
but
I would like to continue
reading articles written by everyone about what you have seen, touched, and felt.
I am thinking of opening up comments again
when the timing feels right.

engaging with everyone's articles.
Thank you
for reading until the end.
