Quitting 'Insta-worthy' and Returning to the Wild: 'The Courage to Share' Intuitive Reading Circle

I participated in 'The Courage to Share' intuitive reading circle.

The event involved opening Hiroomi Sueyoshi's 'The Courage to Share' at random and picking out a message from that page.

What was written on the page I opened was

It was.
Wow, it's like they can see right through me!

For the past 7 or 8 years, I've been swinging toward 'glamorous' and 'Insta-worthy' content on my work social media, completely hiding my own personality.

The reason is that the real me is a rock-loving, subculture-loving shut-in who swings nunchucks, which is the polar opposite of the 'mindful living' or 'life with flowers' persona I was aiming for.

That said, it was an era when 'Insta-worthy' was the trend.
Even while feeling a sense of discomfort, thinking 'This isn't really me,' I accepted it because that's what the world was like and I assumed that's what my customers wanted.

I've been stretching myself to aim for 'glamorous and Insta-worthy' for years, though.
I haven't felt like I've mastered it at all.
If anything, the sense of futility has only grown stronger year by year.

In the end, 'glamorous and Insta-worthy' is just a quality outside of my domain (I knew it).

Working while exhausted is not good for communication with customers, my own mental state, or the work environment, is it?
So, I was already leaning toward the mindset of,
'Let's stop doing things I hate.'

It was at that exact moment that I drew the words mentioned above.

As the book said, I can't keep deceiving myself forever, after all.

I'm going to unleash my wild side into the internet world and master a way of sharing that feels right.


At the reading circle, there was also time to share the messages that other participants received.
I was surprised that HARUKI, who I was with, had an epiphany that 'when you're stuck on sharing, it's important to be conscious of subtracting rather than adding something,' which was in sync with 'sharing your authentic self.'

Intuition is so mysterious!
