[Day 24] I've decided to rethink my plans moving forward

Yesterday, as 2026 began, I wrote about my goals for this year.

Today, I decided to rethink my plans from scratch.

I'll be honest.

I haven't been able to make as much progress as I'd hoped during the first three weeks.

So, I'm going to stop here for a moment and rebuild a realistic plan.

I'll look back at what I was able to do and what I couldn't do during the first three weeks.

Let's review.

What I was able to do:

  • Saw the big picture of 'what to build'

  • Drew up the blueprints

  • Researched the financial side

  • Gained more people supporting me

What I couldn't do:

  • Didn't actually start building anything

  • Didn't really get hands-on with no-code tools either

  • Development hasn't moved forward at all

Causes:

  • Too busy at the end of the year

  • Stuck on research and couldn't move on to actual development

I realized that things can't go on like this

At this rate, it won't be finished in 260 days.

Research and design are important, but

if I don't get my hands dirty and start building, nothing will take shape.

However, I shouldn't be too impatient either.

Realistically, I'll start with what I can do.

With that in mind, I've revised my plan.

Until this weekend (Day 24-26): Preparation period

From today until Sunday.

Gathering information on no-code tools

  • Watch tutorial videos for Glide

  • Briefly look into other tools as well

  • Evaluate which one seems easiest to use

Organizing the features I want to build

  • Narrow down the necessary features for the prototype

  • Prioritize them

Goal for this weekend: Clarify "what to build and how to build it"

Next week (Day 27-33): A week to actually try it out

The week starting from Monday.

Actually try out no-code tools

  • Install Glide

  • Operate while watching tutorial videos

  • Try making a simple sample app

List things I don't understand

  • Take notes on where I get stuck

  • Look things up or ask someone

Goal for next week: Get used to no-code tools

The following week (Day 34-40): Start building a prototype

Start building a prototype of the 'Hair Medication Notebook'

  • Only the minimum necessary features

  • Just being able to record treatment history is fine

Try using it myself

  • Actually use it and find areas for improvement

Goal: Complete a simple prototype

Beyond that (Day 41-): Get feedback

Show it to customers

  • 'I'm making something like this, what do you think?'

  • Get realistic opinions

Show it to fellow hairstylists

  • Ask if it's easy to use

  • Get suggestions for improvement

Brush up the prototype

  • Incorporate the feedback

Don't rush, be realistic

Honestly, I can't work on it every single day.

There are busy days, and days when I can't make progress.

But,

If I take one step a week, in 260 days, something will take shape.

Believing that, without rushing, but without giving up,

I will keep moving forward.

It doesn't have to be perfect

Up until now, I've been aiming for perfection too much.

But, I realized.

It doesn't have to be perfect. Just get it into shape first.

I can improve it from there.

This weekend is for preparation. Starting next week, I'll actually start working on it.

That's fine.

First, I will start by gathering information on no-code tools this weekend.
