In the end, reading. It's tough.

The 'it's tough' series.

Everyone in humanity says reading is good, right?

Doesn't it feel a bit late for that?

But you know,

One of the recommended habits taught directly by Kei Tanaka is 'reading for 30 minutes or more'.

I was skeptical about it, thinking, 'Reading again?' while I did it.

I love books too much; especially when I was really into self-improvement, I used to read 100 books a year, and I must have had about 200 unread books piled up.

Yes, I love books, but because I get interested in so many things, I often can't finish them, and I end up reading five or six at the same time.

And well, my style hasn't really changed much recently, though I haven't been reading that much in terms of volume.

But when I incorporated reading as a habit,

it's cliché, but,

it's good.

It's too good.

After all, they say books are the crystallization of an author's life, so the information is systematized and packed in there.

As expected, it's amazing.

It's unbelievably amazing.

It's frustrating because it's so ordinary, but I really feel it.

I like video content too, but I hate to say it, the quality of reading is just on a different level. It's in a league of its own.

What I've been particularly into lately is the close reading of classics and masterpieces.

Like reading them over and over again.

Or re-reading books I bought a long time ago.

That said, I'm also reading recent books that caught my interest.

I'd like to introduce the books I've read little by little.

And so, as I try to make this a habit, I decided to try out Audible, which seemed like a good idea.

It's good.

It's really good.

I can listen while doing chores. I can listen in the car.

Chores have become even more enjoyable, too.

I recommend it.

What I'm listening to right now is Audrey Tang's PLURALITY.

It's a thick book, so it takes 18 hours, but I'm listening at 1.2x speed, and it looks like I'll be done in about 4 more hours. (I think 4 hours is generally standard for a normal book.)

It takes longer than reading, but it seems to fit my nature, where spoken words are easier to remember, even better.

Even though it's like passive listening, I feel like it's sticking in my head quite well.

If I want to read it carefully, it seems like a good idea to listen to it two or three times.

I'm reading Kindle and paper books too, though.

So, that was my story about recommending Audible for building a habit.

Let's continue to enjoy our reading life together.

From page one.

Let's begin.

Let's keep going.

Your life will become richer.
It was so obvious I didn't want to say it, but it was the essence.

I've been curious about Audible ever since I saw this article😊
