2026.1.29 License Renewal

I've finally got my gold license back!

I had spent over 30 years of my driving life without any accidents or violations, but one day I ended up having to pay a fine for a minor traffic violation.

However, because it was a 'minor violation,' my license renewal was pushed five years into the future.

This was a real pain...

It's expensive because your car insurance premiums are treated as 'blue' status for those five years!

It's not the 'blue' of Son Goku's Super Saiyan Blue, so there's nothing good about it.

Every time I paid my insurance premiums, I thought to myself:

If you commit a violation, why not just have a three-year renewal cycle?

This ends up costing more than the fine itself.

By the way, there were many middle-aged men at the license center who failed the vision test.

They didn't even seem to realize their eyesight had declined. That's scary.
