Self-Introduction (Updated 2024/11/13)
Nice to meet you. My name is Ena (^^)
I call myself a Pro-Dieter
and work as a diet advisor.
A Pro-Dieter?
Ena?
I'm sure some of you are wondering who I am,
so please let me introduce myself (^-^)
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
Twenty years ago, I succeeded in losing 35 kilograms.
I have managed to maintain that weight with almost no rebound to this day.
When people hear that, they often ask me,
"What did you do to lose weight?"
"Honestly, I didn't really do anything in particular..."
That is actually my honest answer ^^;
I didn't spend much money or use any special methods...
But
it's not like I did absolutely nothing ☺️
I was able to lose weight through a
diet that doesn't require going out of your way to do anything special
.
Using that experience,
I named my diet method from back then
the "Wazayara Diet" (Effortless Diet).
I decided to start consulting
in the hope that I could be someone who gives a gentle push
to those who want to diet like I did
but lack the courage,
or to those who are beginners at dieting!
If you are interested in how I,
someone with no money
and no athletic ability,
managed to lose 35 kilograms,
I would be happy if you read this!
"I'm fine. There wasn't anything I really wanted."
That was the line I always used
when I went shopping with friends
Was there really nothing I wanted??
No, there was 💦
They just didn't have my size...lol
At other times,
I would notice my close group of friends
acting all secretive,
only to find out from another friend
that they had gone to a group date without me. Lol
I couldn't look in the mirror; I didn't want to.
When I walked, I always looked at the floor or the ground.
When I made eye contact with people while talking,
I felt like they were laughing at me, and it was scary...
There is plenty of diet information out there, but
diet advice from someone who is already thin
is just not convincing at all...
My problem was getting to that point in the first place.
With that feeling,
I spent every day feeling depressed.
I couldn't really join in on the love stories my friends were talking about,
and behind my back, they even gave me nicknames
like 'Hara' (the surname of the founder of a certain religious group ^^;). Lol
I wonder how I can lose weight...
Will I be able to lose weight?
I don't need to be as thin as a model,
but at least I want to be able to buy
clothes sold in regular stores...
But I don't have money, and I'm bad at exercise...
And nursing school is busy...
If only I had more moneyif only,
if only I had more timeif only,
if only I liked exercise...
I spent my days just making 'what if' excuses without putting in any effort...
And,
I would blame others or look for excuses,
saying I got fat because my parents didn't stop me,
or because I quit swimming,
or because I'm bad at exercise,
justifying myself
to keep my peace of mind.
The trigger that made me think, 'I want to change!'
There were a few.
First, a word from my older brother.
'Ena, you have a cute face if you lose weight,
and I think you'd be popular.'
'Huh? Me, cute? Popular?'
...Is such a future really possible?
It was an eye-opener. Lol
If I lose weight,
I thought it was a world unrelated to me,
but could I step into
the world of romance! Lol
Furthermore, could I become a person
who gets called cute! Lol
Come to think of it, I've been called fat, but
maybe I've never been called ugly...
My brother was quite popular at the time, so
if he said so, it might be true... and
simple-minded me started to
turn my attention to dieting.
And a pretty big factor was the health checkup.
At the annual health checkup at school,
I had to get a re-examination due to an abnormality in my electrocardiogram.
When I went to the hospital for the re-examination,
it wasn't a condition that would immediately become critical,
but
the doctor said,
'I feel hesitant to say this to a young girl,
but... let's lose some weight. Otherwise, it will only put a strain on your heart.
You'll die someday.' Lol
Huh... so I'll die from being fat...
It was a shock.
Somewhere in my heart,
I thought, 'I'm not really that fat, am I?' Lol
When a third party
talks about life-threatening risks,
it really hit home.
And the clincher was...
On the day of my white coat fitting right after entering nursing school...
Out of the sizes ranging from S to XXL,
I picked up the XXL, thinking it would surely fit.
“Wait... you’ve got to be kidding me...”
To my surprise,
the zipper wouldn't go up (^_^;)
Man... the sight of that day
is still so traumatic
that it remains etched in my memory. Haha.
This is definitely bad!!
I thought, and decided to go on a diet.
That said.
Even though I made the decision, I was a student with no money,
and I couldn't afford to sign up for things like beauty salons.
Furthermore, I amextremely uncoordinated...
I’m so uncoordinated that I think vaulting boxes are things to sit on,
and hurdles are things to knock over.
I realized that exercise was never going to last for me.
So, the method I came up with was
to incorporate dieting into the daily activities and movements
that I do no matter how busy I am!!
That was the method.
Things I definitely do every day include eating,
going to and from school, going out on days off, brushing my teeth, taking a bath...
I incorporated dieting into these.
For example,
chewing every bite 30 times when eating,
walking faster,
walking while keeping my abs engaged,
only using the stairs...
It was really about making small changes to my habits.
First,
eating habits, which seem most directly linked to dieting.
I wondered, how much time do I actually spend eating?
And how many times do I chew before
swallowing? So I researched my own eating habits.
It turned out that surprisingly,
I wasn't chewing at all.
Naturally, that leads to eating too fast.
So, I started here.
For now, I’ll make sure to chew at least 10 times.
Once that became second nature, I increased it to 20, then 30 times.
And you know,
isn't the reason dieting is painful
because you can't eat when you're hungry,
or you can't eat the things you like?
Thinking that, I didn't reduce the amount of food I ate.
But just by chewing well,
I really felt full,
and naturally, I couldn't eat the same amount
as I used to.
So, using this method,
I lost about 5 kilograms quite easily.
Also, when commuting,
or when going out with family or friends,
I made sure to always use the stairs.
When going to Disney,
even when transferring to the Keiyo Line at Tokyo Station,
even if my friends took the escalator,
I took the stairs. lol
Since I didn't have a habit of weighing myself originally,
I made sure to weigh myself every single day.
But weight,
since you can see it in numbers,
it really affects your daily motivation...
At first, it goes down smoothly,
so it's fun to step on the scale,
but when I hit a period where my weight wouldn't drop,
there were days I couldn't face the numbers.
But, I didn't want to give up here!
I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be called "◯hara"
after losing weight.
I told myself that if I gave up here,
I would end up giving up on everything
and living a life of running away.
I told myself that.
Like this,
my weight dropped little by little,
and I thought, 'more, more...'
and in the end, a year and a half later, I succeeded in losing 35 kilograms.
Naturally, I got my first boyfriend ever,
and when shopping with friends,
I became able to buy what I wanted to buy.
I was no longer afraid to look at shop windows.
Furthermore, I started getting invited to group dates... lol
I even started getting hit on... lol
Just like my brother said,
I got to experience being popular. lol
The person who used to be called "◯hara"
is now told that I look like Haruna Kawaguchi. (I'm sorry if there are any Haruna-chan fans out there...)
Above all,
I became able to talk to people proactively,
and looking in the mirror
and stepping on the scale became fun.
From there,
I had weight fluctuations of about 5 to 10 kilograms,
and each time, I tried every diet imaginable.
But, in the end, it's like returning to the basics,
the method of incorporating dieting into the habits
I had adopted at the beginning
is ultimately the one I can continue without strain.
Furthermore, since it's become a habit,
even if I add other methods to it,
it doesn't feel like that much of a burden.
What do you think?
Don't you think you could do it too☺️?
That's right, truly anyone can do it.
Furthermore, I have
experienced this much dieting,
had successes and failures,
and learned the shocking fact that fat cells never decrease,
so
I realized that a life away from dieting
is not for me.
It's like a chronic illness...
Like "living with cancer" or
"living with diabetes."
It's something like that. lol
The illness of having been fat. lol
As long as I have that medical history,
I decided to live with dieting!
that's what I decided.
Since I'm doing this anyway, I want to enjoy it,
and I believe in not overdoing it,
so I don't push myself when I'm busy.
But that is also my own fault.
When I have time,
I make sure to change my lifestyle and mindset
back to one that restores my body shape.
And since I have spent so many years
facing the challenge of dieting,
I thought it would be okay to call myself a professional dieter,
so I decided to call myself a Pro Dieter.
Furthermore, I have also continued my work as a nurse
for the past 17 years.
Even after becoming a nurse
and gaining even more knowledge than I had as a student,
I still think
that Waza-yara dieting is truly logical...
I want to give shape to everything I've learned from my efforts and
failures!
There must be people out there struggling just like me!
I want to be someone who can encourage those people
and be there for them in their struggles!
With that thought in mind,
I decided to start consulting.
In my consulting,
I help you find ways to change your lifestyle habits
into habits that lead to weight loss,
and I provide support so you can continue dieting in a fun way,
while sharing knowledge about dieting
and my own past diet failures.
I would like to build this up
while also borrowing ideas from everyone who participates in the consulting.
