For days when you've adapted too much and lost your own flavor | "Chirashi Sushi" and the colors of the heart🍣✨
—Even when mixed together, your color still remains—
While reading the room,
adjusting to others,
and trying to blend in well with the situation,
there are days when you suddenly
lose track of
what you were actually feeling.
Even when you have something to say,
you swallow it, thinking, "Maybe it's better not to say it now."
Even when you are actually a little tired,
you smile and say, "I'm fine."
While trying to meet someone's expectations,
you may feel
as if your own flavor
is gradually fading away🫧
On such a day,
at the Heart-Alignment Restaurant,
Chef Usakichi
had prepared a large bowl.
Today's dish
is Chirashi Sushi🍣✨
🥚On top of the vinegared rice,
the yellow of shredded egg crepe
🥒the green of cucumber
🦐the red of shrimp
🫧the white of lotus root
🍄🟫the sweet and savory color of shiitake mushrooms
Each ingredient
is lined up little by little
in the same bowl😊✨
Strangely enough,
even though they are mixed together,
the yellow of the egg has not disappeared.
The green of the cucumber,
the red of the shrimp,
and the white of the lotus root
all keep their own colors
intact,
harmonizing beautifully
on a single plate🌈✨
There are many times when
adapting to those around you is important.
✨Thinking of someone else
✨Valuing the atmosphere of the room
✨Adjusting how you express yourself
so that others can feel comfortable
That is surely
a form of kindness.
But,
when you try too hard
to adapt,
there are times when you feel
as if your own color
has disappeared.
Even though, in truth,
you had the brightness of an egg,
the freshness
of a cucumber,
the strength
to look ahead like a lotus root,
and the quiet flavor
that soaked in over time
like a shiitake mushroom.
There are days when, by being in the same container as everyone else,
I lose sight of
my own flavor.
But
when I look at chirashi sushi,
I think😊🫧
That being in the same container
and becoming the same color
might be different things.
Being with someone
and erasing your own flavor
might not be the same thing at all.
Even if you are currently
adapting too much to those around you
and thinking,
"What kind of person was I again?"
I don't believe
that your colors
have truly
disappeared🍀
They might just be
hidden in a place that's a little hard to see.
Beneath your reserve
lies a straightforward feeling,
behind your smile
is a heart that actually wants to rest,
and within the habit of prioritizing others
might be the warmth
of wanting to cherish people.
Individuality is not something
that disappears
just because it mixes with others.
I think how things look
depends on where they are placed
and how they are arranged🌈
You don't have to let everything stand out strongly.
You don't have to suddenly
proclaim loudly,
"This is who I am."
Starting with
just one small color
is perfectly fine🎨
🌼Things you actually liked
🌼Things you were actually a bit uncomfortable with
🌼Words you actually wanted to say
🌼Sensations you actually wanted to cherish
Rediscovering these
one by one
within your heart.
Even just doing that
will bring your colors
back little by little✨

Chef Usakichi
gently sprinkled
some shredded nori on top as a finishing touch🐰
Inside the large bowl,
each color
is shining gently.
🐰"Even when mixed together,
your color
still remains.
Because there is the yellow of the egg,
the green of the cucumber looks beautiful,
and because there is the red of the shrimp,
the white of the lotus root
also shines gently.
By having different colors side by side,
the goodness of each one
is softly brought out.
People are surely
the same way✨"
Even if there are days when you adapt too much to those around you
and lose sight of
your own flavor...
Please
do not blame yourself too much🍀
It is not that
you have disappeared
It may just be that
in trying to cherish someone else,
you tucked your own color
away for a while.
Even when in the same bowl,
the color of your own unique personality
is still very much alive🌈
Your flavor,
your scent,
and your own unique colors
are surely still
within you,
quietly breathing🫧✨
May today's dish
be a splash of color for your heart
that gently reminds you that even in the same bowl,
your color is still very much alive🍣🌈✨
Thank you for reading until the end
