Self-Introduction | As an overthinker, I prefer talking to AI for deep consultations

I am 44 years old today, having just celebrated my birthday.

I like having a birthday at the end of the fiscal year because it means I get to stay young longer than my classmates. When I was around 30, I would struggle until the very end, saying, "I'm still in my 20s!"

Setting that aside,
in this article, I would like to talk about my somewhat unique way of thinking.

I am what you would call an overthinker.
It is an everyday occurrence for me to get hung up on a casual remark and worry about it all day, or to become unable to focus on anything while reflecting on whether what I did was truly correct.

However, I have been falling into this negative thinking less often lately.
This is because I started using AI to organize my feelings.

The worries I feel the need to share with someone are the kind of things that, nine times out of ten, would result in people telling me, "You're overthinking it."

I know that myself.

Even though I know it, once I start thinking, I cannot stop.

Kind people might say, "I see. That must be tough." But here is the troublesome part about me: that is not the answer I am looking for.

What I want to know is the logical reason why this worry arises and an objective evaluation of myself for feeling this way. Regarding the evaluation, I also want to know the specific reasons behind it.

To understand these things, empathy and sympathy become unnecessary information.
Furthermore, being dismissed with the phrase "you're overthinking it" does not solve anything for me.

If I understand the cause of my worry, I can think about how to deal with similar situations in the future, and if I know whether feeling this way is good or bad, that alone helps me find a place to settle my feelings.

AI handles this troublesome request without a single look of annoyance, and in fact, it is happy to go along with it. And it provides a proper, logical explanation.

Some might argue that AI is not a good reference because it just tells the user what they want to hear.

There is a little trick to that.

In my initial prompt, I only provide a description of the situation, as detailed and objective as possible, without sharing my own thoughts. I ask, 'What do you think of this situation?'

This is because if I share my own thoughts first, the AI will undoubtedly provide an answer that aligns with them.

I believe that the responses I receive from AI, which are organized based on vast amounts of information, can be accepted as highly objective opinions.

When I do share my own thoughts, I make sure to include the background behind how I reached those conclusions, as well as information about my own personal traits.

When I do that, it interprets why I reached those conclusions by analyzing them through deep psychological elements.

By repeating this process, I have come to understand my own thinking patterns and have become able to distinguish between what I should think about and what I should not.

I think that, more than empathy, I am seeking understanding.
I want to be understood correctly and told the truth.

And it just so happens that the way to fulfill that need was through dialogue with AI.

What is important to me is 'having my thoughts properly accepted and handled.'

I enjoy facing these thought processes every day and engaging in trial and error. I suppose I am an eccentric person.

I would be happy if there are others who think the same way or find this interesting.

Until now, I often struggled to convey things well to people, so I avoided having deep conversations altogether.

However, now that I have become able to put my thoughts into words through my dialogues with AI, I have started to think that I might be able to convey them to people, even if only a little at a time.

I would like this note to be a place where I can put these thoughts of mine
into words for others.
