I might even be part of the Harry Potter generation
Hello. This is Nozomi*daisy.
This time, it's for Ken Honda's Happy Writing Marathon prompt.
Happy Writing Marathon #6
What are some good books you read between high school and age 22?
When I look back at what kind of books I was reading around high school, one immediately came to mind!
The Harry Potter series.
The reason they first came into our home was because of my mother.
When I came home from school, my mother was engrossed in reading for the first time in a while.
What are you reading?
When I asked, she showed me 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone'.
At first, I kind of ignored it, thinking it was just fantasy.
But when my mother finished reading it, I got curious and read it myself, and I was hooked.
After that, I went to a large bookstore to buy the English versions. It had been a long time since I read an English book. From then on, my mother would buy the Japanese versions of the sequels, and I would use my allowance to buy the English versions, so we ended up with the entire series in both Japanese and English.
I remember there were days I stayed up all night to finish one book (in Japanese).
Even when I wanted to stop, I was so curious about what would happen next that I couldn't put it down (laughs).
Because I got hooked on the Harry Potter series, I made sure to go see the movies with subtitles. My mother and I often used to go see the movies together on Ladies' Day back then.
All the books I bought at that time are still at my parents' house.
These were a gift from my parents-in-law.

I have duplicates, but since they are in different places, I'm grateful for that. I can read them whenever I want, whether at my parents' house or my current home.
There was also a tweet about my English planner (laughs).
Harry Potter is a brave hero who faces various difficulties throughout the story.
A mug I got at USJ when I went with my husband. It still hasn't broken, and I use it every morning.

My husband and I also went to see the later movies in the series together.
I think Harry Potter was the reason I started reading books. When I was a university student, I read novels extensively. I miss the days when I would browse books at the bookstore in the station where I transferred during my commute.
Thank you for reading this far.
