[★Announcement★] I exhibited my grandfather's war mementos
It was a little while ago, but I exhibited my grandfather's war mementos at a local war exhibition😊!✨
*These are the mementos I introduced in this article↓
The circumstances that led to me exhibiting them were quite unexpected. Last year, when I participated with my child in a local walking event touring war ruins, I told the organizer about my grandfather's mementos, and they said “We would love for you to exhibit them!”, which led to this exhibition (*^^*)🌸
I had assumed it would be a small event held in a corner of a city hall (sorry about that💦), but it was an incredibly large-scale event that rented out the entire building!!✨

Many children participated in the choral singing themed around the war, and the performance, which was united with local choir members, was truly wonderful✨
Moreover, I was surprised to see so many young people involved😲
There was also a corner where you could sample wartime food, and I tried some suiton (dumpling soup)😊
It contained carrots, daikon radish, and sweet potato vines; apparently, they even used sweet potato leaves back then.

They said they seasoned it more than they did back then so that children could eat it, but it was still lightly flavored, and I felt that it tasted like the ingredients themselves, which was delicious in its own way.
However, thinking that this was the staple food back then, I really felt how unsatisfying it must have been.(+_+)
Also, there were various peace organization booths and local group booths lined up, and it was so fulfilling that I couldn't get around to everything in one day🤩✨
And my grandfather's mementos were also displayed properly✨
・A send-off flag received from local people ・A flag with his military service history written all over it ・A vest he wore during his military service
I also made a panel and wrote down explanations and my thoughts, but I felt like, “Oh, I can’t write it all down!” (lol)

Since it was summer vacation for my child during the exhibition period, I couldn't be at the venue the whole time, but when I was able to go, I spoke directly to those who stopped by.
I received comments from visitors and the organizers saying, “These are very precious items,” and I felt that it was really good to have exhibited them this time😊🍀
At the same time, there is still so much more I want to explain, so I would like to upload it to this note little by little (sorry it's taking me a while to upload😅💦)
I also brought my children to the exhibition, and it seems that seeing children of the same age participating and seeing their great-grandfather's display sparked their interest in war and peace🎵
Eighty-one years after the war, as the number of people who can talk about and pass on the war continues to decrease, I felt once again that it is important for my generation to share these stories and connect them to the future✨
Thank you for reading this time as well😌🌸
