Are your posts failing to drive action? | How to write a CTA that reaches the heart [Examples & Corrections]
When you have a related article you really want people to read on platforms like note, social media, or your blog, what kind of language do you use to guide them to it?
When I ask this question, it is not uncommon to hear people say that things aren't going as planned or that they feel uncomfortable with it.
For example,
“Is it because my writing is weak that people aren't reading it?”
“Encouraging readers to take action feels like a sales pitch, and I’m resistant to that…”
And so on.
In short, there are actually many people who struggle with that “one line (CTA)” that encourages action.
So, this time, with their permission, I would like to introduce a workshop submission from one of my newsletter readers, “Ruto-san,” along with my feedback.

In this practical example, you will be able to understand the following three perspectives:
What is the best way to reach readers without breaking the worldview you want to convey?
How can you properly “encourage action” while maintaining a gentle tone?
How does a simple adjustment of one sentence change post-reading behavior?
Practical Example | Ruto-san's Submission
The theme of the workshop conducted in the newsletter was as follows:
Try creating a post that includes the URL you want to guide people to and a sentence that encourages action (CTA)
Below is the text that Ruto-san wrote.

Just by telling yourself, "I know my own worth,"
your heart can suddenly feel lighter.
This is an article for those of you who are easily hurt by the words of others, to stand by your side.

Correction Example
When I read this text, the first thing I felt was that the writer's kindness comes through naturally.
They aren't trying to force attention.
I honestly felt that this was a piece of writing spun not for the author's own sake, but with the belief that it would reach someone's heart.
With that in mind, adding just a little bit of perspective on "encouraging action" makes it easier for the message to land.
From that perspective, I provided the following suggestion.

"To you, who are easily hurt by the words of others"
I wrote an article that will make your heart feel lighter in 3 minutes.

What I wanted to convey here was to arrange the "wording to make it easier for the reader to act" without breaking the sentiment of Ruto-san's original text.
3 Points for Creating a "Gentle CTA"
The intent behind the suggestion is based on these three points.
① Clarify the target reader
By placing "you" in the very first sentence,
it becomes easier for the reader to feel that "this might be a text written for me."
② Make the future benefit concrete
The phrase "feel lighter in 3 minutes" is
a technique to convey the "benefit of reading" in terms of both time and emotion.
3. Softly add words that encourage action
A light closing like "Please do it now ✨" is a phrasing used to give a nuance of pushing someone forward without being pushy.

The charm of the original text is that "the person you want to reach is visible"
Through this exchange, what I felt once again is that
Ruto-san has a clear idea of "who they want to reach" and truly cares about that person from the bottom of their heart.
That is precisely why, rather than just polishing the sentences,
it was a time where I wanted to think together about "what can be done to convey this sentiment even better."

Summary | Who is your CTA reaching?
Communication is not just about the beauty of the writing.
It is only when there are words that align with the "emotional temperature" of the reader that action is born.
Why don't you also take a look at that final word—
and reconsider the "way you deliver" those words?
This example is part of the practical work I conduct in my free email newsletter, "The Power of Empathetic Words MAGAZINE."
For each assignment, I provide individual feedback to readers as a copywriter. (Free)
