🌟Continuing My Self-Introduction Part 3 | Working Hard😤 Was My Value! From Longing for Overseas to Divorce at 30

Good evening, this is Miki❤️

This article is the third in a 5-part self-introduction series
“Continuing My Self-Introduction | How I Arrived at ‘Living Every Day with Excitement and Joy!’”
.

It would be cool if I could speak English🔤
It would be wonderful if I could fly around the world✈️ and work

Such longings
strongly motivated me when I was young

1. Longing for Overseas🌟 Took Me to the Outside World

After graduating from high school, I went on to a vocational school for English.

A 4-month homestay🏠 in San Diego, USA🇺🇸🌊

The first homestay didn't quite work out,
so I changed it in less than a month

At the home of the musician family🎻 I met after that,
I spent a very warm time

I was hanging out almost every day,
and my host mother even gave me the Party Animal nickname😳

After graduation, I went to Australia🇦🇺 on a working holiday visa

A night sky🌌 where stars seemed to fall,
the Milky Way and the Southern Cross felt within reach,
and a landscape where kangaroos🦘 and wallabies came into the garden

Even though I struggled with communication in English,
I definitely felt that

“the world is vast”
🌏

2. Being Able to Work Became My Value

After returning to Japan, the job I finally landed during a difficult employment era was at a hotel🏨

I worked both in the restaurant and room service,
working quite a hard shift

At that hotel,
I met the husband I would later marry

My husband was a cook🧑‍🍳 and
we got married at 25 after living together for 2 years.

But even after marriage, I didn't stop.

I changed jobs to an English conversation school and
spent my days chasing sales quotas and managing the classroom.

After that, I worked as a temp at a semiconductor equipment manufacturer and
lived a life where I worked until the last train every day.

I enjoyed my work.

Being needed,
being entrusted with tasks,
and achieving results

That was, for me,
a time when I could feel my own worthas well.

3. Married at 25💒 Divorced at 30

At that time,
I was too obsessed with work.

Work over time with my spouse.

Before I knew it, I had no time🕰️ for myself due to daily overtime and
the balance⚖️ with my home life was falling apart.

And then, I divorced at 30.

Looking back now,
it wasn't just my marriage that was broken,
but the balance of my life itself
that I think was.

4. Traveling between China🇨🇳 and Japan🇯🇵✈️ I became even more unable to stop

Even after the divorce, I continued to work.

I was in charge of purchasing, finding factories🏭, and inspections in China for a general goods company, and
spent my days traveling for hours by taxi🚕 from Xiamen to Fujian.

In a factory🏭 with poor facilities,
I sometimes spent my time just inspecting products in the cold.

At my next company, I stood between Japan and China,
working as a coordinator caught between the client and the factory.

Furthermore, as an overseas sales representative for semiconductors,
I began a lifestyle of flying back and forth between China and Taiwan.

Looking back now, I was pushing myself quite recklessly.

But at the time,

before feeling "it's tough,"
"I have to do it"
would always win.

Being able to work hard,
being able to be useful,
being needed,

that became
my valueitself.

5. Conclusion🌟

Working hard is not a bad thing.
Having a sense of responsibility is also a wonderful thing.

However,

if you start thinking that you have no value unless you keep working hard,

that is a bit dangerous.

After this, I would be forced by my mind and body

to "stop."

Is your current hard work
because you "want to do it"?
Or is it because
you "want to be recognized"
or "want to be useful"?

Next time, I will write about the day I suddenly couldn't breathe on an airplane,
and how I faced depression until I graduated from the hospital at age 49.

Thank you so much for reading until the end🌟

"This part left an impression on me"
