What is the difference between unwanted advice and appreciated writing?

Good evening! I am Toshio Tsukuda, a poet who delivers "heart charms" to make your heart feel a little lighter.

You offer constructive criticism with good intentions, only to be met with a sour face. You give a gift with good intentions, only to see a lukewarm reaction. I think everyone has experienced this "I thought I was doing a good thing" problem at least once.

Why are words and actions done with "good intentions" often seen as a nuisance? Thinking about wanting to make someone happy is not a bad thing. For example, even when writing a note, articles written with the other person in mind are often read with interest, with people thinking, "This article really hits the mark."

The reason it becomes an unwanted favor might be because the goal is to expect a "return for oneself." Furthermore, because one expects a return, one ends up writing only what feels good to oneself under the guise of "good intentions," without considering the other person.

Actually, the reward for writing is already received at the stage of "writing what you think." This is because writing leads to "organizing" your own thoughts and opinions, and realizing, "Oh, I see, this is what I wanted to say."

So, writing what you want to write first is the correct approach. It gives power to what you write. However, articles written only with yourself in mind often fail to reach others. Sometimes, they might miss the mark for the reader entirely.

I basically make it a rule to write a manuscript twice. First, I write for myself. Without thinking about how to convey it to others, I pour out what I think about the topic.

Then, the second time, I trace the path of my own thoughts and think, "How can I make this easier to understand?" and "How can I write this so it becomes a gift for the reader?" I think about writing in these two stages.

The basic principle when writing a manuscript is "give & give." It is a full-course meal. By writing what you want to convey with a clear mind, and then rethinking it the second time, you start to consider the other person.

"What I want to convey" and "making the other person happy." By not doing these at once but dividing them into two phases, I believe the manuscript becomes easier to reach the other person.

This time, I have summarized the things I keep in mind regarding how to write.

Well then, please come back to read tomorrow if you'd like.
